Grocery Items Incorrectly Priced

Some belated success on this, I spoke to customer services on the issue above and they mentioned the shop has been experiencing difficulties with incorrect pricing as a goodwill gesture they offered £20 which for me was a good result.0

Ive had the same in a local tesco before and was told that "any 2 for £x" needs to be the same item, you can't mix and match.
I no longer shop at tesco. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
Most supermarkets have this occur occasionally. Our local Tesco is by far the worst for this. We go twice a month and almost every time there is a problem with something being overcharges. We now stop and check the receipt very carefully before leaving the store. We must have saved over £100 in the last few years.0

Bizarre response, what do you expect Tesco to do, go back in time and fix it before it happened?
Or are you expecting them to provide an in depth analysis of their internal procedures to the OP?
A goodwill gesture like this shows they've acknowledged the complaint. What else would you expect them to do?0 -
Well, marliepanda, it was easy to amend spelling and grammatical and punctuation errors when we could edit posts easily instead of having about 30 seconds to edit posts.
Wasn't it?
I think that's stopped now, I can now edit and delete the same as it always was.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Tesco seems to be getting worse for this, at least my local. Items are constantly displayed with offers that the Till system doesn't recognise or acknowledge.
As many people have said It's always handy to remember these offers and immediately go to Customer Services and tell them you've been overcharged. If they say it is no longer on offer, ask them to follow you and show them the price they are advertising it at. They cannot advertise it at one price and then charge another.. Sometimes it is due to items been in the wrong position on the shelf (Sizes of Jars/Meats etc) so be sure you've picked up the right item first!
Must cost them a fortune in Compo, you think they do something about it...0 -
The price isn't set until you hand over the money. that is when a contract is made.
A shop can decline to sell an item at the price on the shelf. That is only an offer to sell.
However, Tesco generally od honour th price on the shelf if it is less than the correct price.
What amazes me is the pricing errors are always in the shop's favour, not the customer's favour.0
