I am soooooo angry 😡😡😡I've just seen a clip from this morning showing Edwina Curry giving out ideas for saving energy ,she recommended that we all put tinfoil behind our radiators to help with the rise in bills and to make sure the radiators aren't covered by furniture 😡😡😡😡😡brilliant idea you muppet but it will only work if you can afford to switch the radiator on in the first place. Martin Lewis was on the show and he had his head in his hands . Who the bloody hell do these people think they are saying useless stuff like this to people who could die this winter. I am beyond fuming and really despair at the lack of human empathy these people have.Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1204

Oh how very annoying coming from someone who will never have to worry about heating bills. This is what's going to happen we'll get all this patronising advice on budgeting, recipes, etc from people who don't need to actually put their advice into action!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

It is enraging, @Onebrokelady. We have to remember that she is from a party which believes it is born to rule. Therefore, it can never be to blame for anything, which means the narrative is generally manipulated to place the blame on the little people. The not-so-subtle message here is that if we all took simple measures like buying a kettle, moving our sofas, strategic placement of tin foil & (heaven forfend that any of us hadn't thought of this one!) cutting down how much energy we use, we'd be in a much better position to manage. It's the same basic narrative as the one about food poverty being a result of poor cooking skills or young people failing to get a foot on the housing ladder because they spend all their money on avocadoes & lattes. It's a classic technique from the Right, that even with such a demonstrably unequal, rigged system as ours in the UK, the poor are entirely responsible for their own situation. We SHOULD be angry. Ah well, I expect the new house of cards will collapse pretty swiftly. You couldn't make this stuff up, OBL.

I can't & don't watch them any more. At least Martin knows even though he is probably richer than them all. A few years ago when I did still watch I landed up throwing something at the TV I was so angry. I stick to reading stuff now.

Not getting any younger & if I get cold I can't move & if I am too bundled up I also can't move. I'm just grateful for all the saving I did in my last 5 years at work.1

I saw the Edwina Currie thing too. I wonder what she suggests for people who can't even afford the gas or electric to cook the food that they've been given from the food bank, never mind switch any form of heating on? Stupid woman - she needs to join the real world. If we're forming a queue I'll come.
In other news as I know your health symptoms are similar to mine I had another diagnosis to add to the list last week. I have fibromyalgia and need to have more tests for rheumatoid arthritis as my great grandad died of that aged 41.1
