  • The magazine sub sounds like an excellent present. It's really good having a fund for Christmas, it must give you such peace of mind.

My Xmas fund was the second thing I set up aftef I started my DMP,it's always things like Xmas and birthdays that push me over a financial cliff,my last few Christmas's have been paid for mostly with credit cards,I knew I wouldn't have access to credit once I started my DMP so decided to concentrate on saving up as much as I could for this year,I'm planning on doing the same every year, any money that doesn't get used will be rolled over to the following years savings,if I'm lucky enough not to spend it all that is

Well last night ended badly,I forgot to clip the dogs claws earlier in the day and DD reminded me just as I was going to bed,the dog has been chewing her nails so I thought I had better do it before I went to bed........big mistake,I ended up cutting one too short and it bled and bled and bled and bled,I had to dress it in the end and she had to sleep on my bed for the night so I could keep an eye on her
It looked fine this morning until the dressing came off and then it started bleeding all over again,I had to get ready and goto work so was panicking a bit, anyway I discovered you can dip it in a paste of cornstarch or baking powder and that helps the blood to clot,so I tried that and it worked thank god,I was worried all day at works though that it would start bleeding again while I was out,I came home expecting there to be blood everywhere but it was fine and hasn't bled since,my poor poor little dog,I felt so guilty,I sat up a few times in the night because she was so still I thought she had stopped breathing but she was just fast asleep:eek:

Work was ok today if a little boring for a change,I didn't get chance to speak to my bosses about my hours because non of our senior management were around today so it will have to wait now until the end of the week,I finished at 3.30 today so that was nice,I had better make the most of it now I suppose

I came home and stripped my bed and got that washed,DDs is in the machine now and I'm hoping I will be able to peg it all out in the morning,I also swept all the leaves off the garden steps this morning because I nearly fell down them when I left for work, there were so many leaves I couldn't see the edge of the steps and it's a long way to fall

DD came home and we took the dog out for her evening walk, but it got dark really quickly tonight so it was a bit scary on the way back,we take her up a country lane and through two fields so it's not well lit, there were loads of bats out tonight though which is always a sight to see

I have had a very painful face all day so have not felt great,my throat still feels sore but my runny nose isn't as bad as last night,I'm still hoping this won't develope into anything more than it is already as I really can't take any time off

Tomorrow is my day off and I have DGS all day,I'm taking him to see my friend in the morning for a coffee then I have some jobs to do in town

  • Sorry about the dogs claw bleeding. We've done that to the furry moron in the past as he has black claws so you can't see the quick. You feel so guilty, but they're always fine.

I hope your face feels less painful soon and the runny nose doesn't develop into a lurgy.

Hope you soon feel better! Poor dog, but poor you as well, that's so easy to do. I can hardly believe I used to clip hamsters' teeth if they were maloccluded.

Today's plans had to be changed because poor DGS was poorly,he was sent home from nursery yesterday with a temperature and a rash around his mouth,he was obviously feeling like rubbish because he snuggled up with me on the settee for half an hour,I didn't want to take him to my friends because her DGC were there and I'm not sure if the rash is a sign of something contagious,he also still has a cough and runny nose
He went for a nap at 8.45 and didn't wake up until 12.30 ,I fell asleep on the sofa while he was in bed so I had a two hour nap while he was asleep:j

I had to pop into town though today because I needed some food shopping,so I wrapped him up in the buggy and walked into town,I gave him some calpol before I left and it obviously worked because he was quite perky while I was out,I paid the money my mum gave me into the bank while I was there as well

I fancied a curry for tea so I made that this afternoon and have enough left for the next three days,I will take some to work for tomorrow ,I also bought satsumas yesterday and have eaten four so far ,I can feel my body sucking up all the vitamin c:rotfl:
I really need to sort out my diet and eat more fruit and veg so I have satsumas and bananas,I've been eating pears but have run out now so will have to get some more

Me and DD have been watching Great British Bake Off and each week we have something yummy to eat that roughly ties in with the weeks theme, this week was pattisserie but because DD is vegan and most patisserie contains cream I couldn't find anything so we had cinnamon rolls, they were very yummy but my tummy is starting to expand so I've said that after next weeks final I'm going back on my diet,I'm 7lbs over my goal weight that I reached earlier in the year so I need to get back to goal before Xmas, I follow SW but I'm not going to classes as I don't have the time or the money at the moment,I have all my books though so will get them out and get on with it
I've started walking again over the last week,I did five 30 minute walks last week and I walked into town today so another 30 minutes,I'm going to go back to walking into town to get my bus after work now too,it's a 25 minute walk three days a week so it all adds up

I've got work tomorrow so will be off to bed in a bit,I'm not tired though so I don't know if I will sleep,I slept like a log last night though,I'm probably going to be looking after DGS again on Thursday this week because he should be going to nursery but if he's not well he can't go,I was planning a day at home anyway so it doesn't matter, poor little man I hope he gets better soon,I hate seeing him ill

Edited to add,I've just updated my signature to show the money I paid into my emegancy fund, back up to £350 :j
