Good to hear you have made your decision about work, I guess peace of mind is better for all of us. Every morning this week I haven't wanted to get out of a cozy bed .
Have a good weekend , and maybe give yourself a little slack on money matters . Thinking about it all the time isn't good for you. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I've just spent all evening reading your diary OBL. It's fascinating reading
.
I'm glad your mum has recovered after her surgery. You are lucky to have her, I miss my mum so much.
I think increasing your hours is the right decision as worrying about money all the time is sooo stressful.
You are doing so well on your debt free journey. I'm going to subscribe to your diary now.

We've just put our winter duvet back on the bed. The summer one is very light so this feels like being under a snowdrift, but warm and cosy. Oh yes, and a brushed cotton cover adds to the effect. It's odd, isn't it, this mixture of warm sunny days and near-freezing nights (at least up here in the north). I love it and I'm making the most of it!
I looooove my brushed cotton duvet so much:rotfl: last night I was so warm when I got in bed I had to throw the duvet off for a bit,my body doesn't regulate my temperature any way plus adding in the menopause and I have inbuilt central heating,it's saving me money in my gas bill anyway:TOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1201 -

I'm am so lucky that my mum has been ok after her surgery, when I read your diary it brought it home to me just how things can change in the blink of an eye and we have to cherish the moments we spend together
I'm feeling a bit calmer now I've made my decision so hopefully I will stop freaking out about it all now,I'm keeping it in mind that I can always decrease my hours again if I need to in the future and maybe if I did it again I could prepare for it next time,I did it this time in a bit of a rush because I was feeling really down about work,so if I do it again I will plan it betterOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1201 -
Another gorgeous day here today,I had a late night last night because I had trouble sleeping,I was really hot and in quite a lot of pain so it took me a while to nod off,the upshot was I overslept this morning as I intended to get up earlier and do some jobs,I'm not feeling great so haven't done anything jobwise yet
Me and DD did walk to our local Range store because she needs some compost to repot the plants in her room but they didn't have any small bags, they had big bags but they are too heavy to carry back to the bus stop as it's a fair walk, I did buy a cheap pair of nail clippers for the dog as she desperately needs her nails trimming and DD bought some treats for her hamster but nothing else
I met my mum for lunch yesterday and a mooch around town,I had lovely macaroni chees for lunch,it's good old comfort food
We had a nice wander round the shops and mum bought herself a jumper, she also gave me £100 to treat myself with,I hate it when she does this and told her to put it back in her purse but she wasn't having any of it and made me take it,so that money is going into my emergency fund as soon as I can get to the bank, she doesn't know I'm in debt but she does know that money has always been tight so she does this every so often but I always feel bad and try to refuse it but she is very stubborn and won't take no for an answer,I console myself with the fact that I'm putting it in the bank and not wasting it on frivolous things I don't need
I also bought my first xmas present yesterday for DD2 ,it felt good to be buying it with money I've saved up and not a credit card, I need to speak to DD1 ask her for ideas for Xmas,I'm hoping she will want money because then I don't have to shop for and wrap pressies,I'm going to give her money for DGS because he doesn't need any toys at the moment,he got such a lot for his birthday back in July and he won't have grown out of them by Xmas
Then it's just DD1s husband and my mum and dad to buy for and I haven't a clue what to get them,my mum likes Gardeners World magazine and buys it every month so I might get her a subscription to that
I'm just chilling with a cup of coffees d trying to get up the motivation to go and tidy the kitchen,I was also going to potter in the garden today but I'm in too much pain,I hope I'm better tomorrow becasue my holiday is over and it's back to workOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1201 -
A subscription to her favourite magazine would be a really thoughtful Christmas present for your Mum0

Uh oh,I have a nasty feeling my cold has now decided it might turn into something after all, my nose has upgraded its efforts to be runny I'm sneezing have a headache and feel a bit shivery......just in time to go back to work tomorrow:eek: it's a good job I'm finishing early tomorrow, hopefully it will go away overnight
I managed to tidy the kitchen earlier ,I had a large cupboard with pet supplies in and needed to put stuff in there but it was a mess so I've tidied that out and put all the pet supplies that were delivered away,I'm such a twit though because it didn't occur to me to order a large bale of sawdust when I had the other bits delivered,we use quite a lot for the hamster and chickens so buying a large bale would be quite cost effective and save me having to carry bags of sawdust home on the bus,I will have to remember that next time,I've emptied the chicken feed into the feed bin and it's fullup now so that will last a few months I reckon
I'm just chilling out now after a lovely hot shower and catching up on here until the programme I'm watching comes on the tellyOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1201 -
Nearly forgot to edit my signature,I used £20 of the Xmas fund yesterday to buy DD2s watch so I've done it now,I will change the amount of the emergency fund on Tuesday when I pay in the money my mum gave me,the emergency fund will be back up to £350 on TuesdayOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1201
