I'm writing this down now in the hope that I will then stop thinking about it
Work phoned me at home today to ask me if I could cover a shift on the 28th of March,I'm working the day before and the day after and was told told this would be a bank shift so extra hours,I said I couldn't do it because I'm not actually supposed to work two days in a row never mind three, the person who phoned said she told my boss that but the boss said I should be ok as it wasn't as if I would be working on the ward ( it's clincs all day)
I'm thinking great does she not think it's work then if your in a clinic,it's really stressful sometimes and while I enjoy this particular clinic I can't do extra hours
The thing that's bugging me is that they have just spent the last however many years badgering me to cut my hours becasue of my ill health and i resisted for all that time and now I've given in and cut my hours they want me to work extra, after telling me that I must think about my health and that that was more important than money they then change their minds when it suits them
What my boss fails to understand is I still have to get up early and travel there and it's a long 12 hour shift and it doesn't matter that I won't be on the ward it's still work
I don't feel bad about saying no but I'm annoyed they think they can just change the rules when they are stuck for staff, well they should have thought about that before they badgered me into cutting my hours:mad::mad:
Ahhhhhhhh that's better........rant over:rotfl:Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1201 -
Well done on the ceiling paint! I hope the wrists are recovering. Bet it looks great and you have to look at it every time you go in (I would).
I agree the request for extra hours seems to be about what suits them. Good on you for turning it down.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Good on you for turning down the extra hours. I agree they are just changing the rules to suit them...stick to your guns. As I have found out in the past, to my cost, health is so much more important than money and work. IMHO, your priority is to yourself and not to your employer.:)DMP 2015 £57,549, now £36,112 (37% paid)

Well that does seem to be pretty inconsiderate of your boss OBL and a case of one rule for you and a different rule for them. How is a twelve hour shift in a clinic not work? It's good that you said no, as imagine the potential knock on effects upon your health! Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Great about the ceiling. How hypocritical of work to do that! When stuff suits them though, it means they do as they please and say as they please. xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330
Starting afresh.
You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x0 -

They do tend to change things to suit themselves, I'm back at work today so will see if anything is said, I will quote their comment about how I need to cut my hours to look after myself and that my health is more important than money if anything is said todayOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1201 -
