I would count 2018 as a success then. Lots of positives there.

That was definitely a positive year, OBL. Here's to 2019, when you will be able to build on the excellent foundations you've made x

Day off today and I had a mega lie in and didn't get up until 10am:eek: it's that fluffy duvet cover that keeps me in bed,it's sooooo soft and snuggly I could stay there all day:rotfl:
Once I managed to get up I had a busy productive day,DD took the dog out so I didn't have to do that this morning,so I had a nice leisurely breakfast

Then it was into the spare room to sort out the bits I wanted to take to the charity shop, two more bags of stuff were got rid of today,I put some bits that were temporarily dumped in the spare room in the loft where they belonged until the summer ( outside seat cushions )
The it was off out to the charity shop at my local shopping center,I also needed some bits of shopping so did that as well
Came home and dusted and hoovered the main rooms of the house, then I sorted some bits from the kitchen shelving that I don't want anymore,I hate cleaning this shelving because I have to move lots of nicnacs first, so to cut down on housework I'm getting rid of them,it's things like candle and tea light holders and some coasters I don't ever use,I've put the candles away in the cupboard in case of power cuts ( you never know ) I then cleared some bits from my kitchen window sill so that's easier to clean now
I now have another bag to go to the charity shop which I'm taking tomorrow
One of the items is an oil burner that I bought years ago and never use anymore,it's has been on the windowsill full of acorns conkers hagstones and bits of random nature for a few years just gathering dust which I would periodically have to pull out and clean so today I've put the contents outside on the table for now and the oil burner is in the charity bag,it is however calling to me to take it back out,it's a lovely burner but I never use it and it's in the way so it's going tomorrow, someone else might get lots of use out of it :)

I was supposed to looking after DGS tomorrow but DD1 phoned earlier to say she isn't bringing him because he is poorly again,he always seems to be poorly,he has caught a virus off his cousin and has a temperature and a nasty cough,DD is going to try to work from home tomorrow while he is hopefully having several naps
The silver lining to this is that I now don't have to get up at 6.30 am :j:j:j
I can stay in my favourite place ( my bed) for a couple of hours longer :j:j:j

I'm going to see my friend for coffee tomorrow after I've dropped the charity shop bits off, then home later to probably do my ironing and maybe sort out some more bits from the spare room, there is a charity shop at work so I might take some bits to that one as well
I don't have any other housework to do tomorrow because I did it all today:T

  • Well done on the decluttering OBL, it must be really starting to make a difference now :T. You're inspiring me to do some decluttering now.

I hope DGS gets better soon.

Thanks Hairy,I can't see much difference yet but I think that's because I'm doing bits from different rooms, the spare room looks emptier now,I can actually see the bed now :rotfl:
I'm just fed up with having to move stuff to get to other stuff or clean, and I just thought why am I keeping all this stuff if I'm not using it,getting rid of things is making me very happy :j
I'm always looking at storage solutions to sort out the problem then it dawned on me.....I don't need more storage I just need less stuff :rotfl:

Buying the book Stuffocation has really inspired me to declutter and streamline my surroundings,it will then be easier to keep it tidy and clean
