Looking to buy a new executive company car

Hardly a direct comparison, given :-- Its a 6 year old car not a new one
- Its two size points above the cars hes looking at (and in fact the LWB variant so bigger again)
- Far more power than hes looking at
- Could throw up a muti £,£££ bill at any point - its still got £120,000 car running costs
- It'll still depreciate from that point like snow dropping off a ditch anyway.

Thank you all for the responses. I test drove the Kia Stinger GT-S this morning at my local dealership and overall, I was impressed. The car looks even more handsome in person, and the interior was in a class of its own. Dare I say, as good as the Jag if not better? The quality was really top notch and this was quite a pleasant surprise considering it's Kia's first attempt at making an up-scale vehicle competing with the lies of the German cars. The ride, comfort and engine were all exceptional, and so was the handling albeit I not as responsive or planted as the BMW but IMO better than the Jag, especially when you factor in price.
I have the admit probably did the BMW had the better engine, sporty handling and perhaps fun factor, but the lower cost and warranty of the Kia as well as its exclusivity really draws me in. I will need a proper think on what car I want between to two over the next week or so...
I'm not sure why you're still saying the KIA has a lower cost, theres far more discount avail on a BMW than the KIA so it more than offsets that.
However as Adrian has said, its going to come down to monthly cost - it will be interesting to see how those figures look.0 -
And six years old so wayyy outside manufacturers warranty. Not for the faint hearted that one.
LOL, I know, not an entirely serious suggestion, but he did want luxury and quick.
I would seriously consider the Stinger in his position, don't really like BMW, the XE just doesn't do it in comparison to the XF.
I had a good look around and play with the Stinger at our local dealership just before Christmas and really liked it.0 -

Indeed. I'd love to have the cajones to run something like that.
My BIL bought an ex demo 3.0d Portfolio a few months ago. Beautiful thing. He'll flog it when the warranty expires though.0 -

The Jaguar XF is a bigger and heavier car, meaning it probably won't be as fun/sporty to drive as the 340i M Sport. I have a £8000 annual allowance, but this will also have to factor in insurance, so I £600 to play around with a month.
It's only slightly heavier than an XE (and 3 series), around 100kg depending on model. They are both built on the same platform so most of the substructure is the same.
Personally I think the XF is a much better car and Jag missed the mark with the XE.0 -
Isn't looking at new cars strange today? I was just looking at the BMW specs & it lists what wheels you get, what shiny door sills, what exhaust pipes, gear knob, instrument cluster & radiator grill before eventually getting to the engine.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

I've just done exactly the same on an XF3.0d Portfolio S - £15k from Jaguar Approved Used with 2yrs servicing/warranty included and cleared £10k on sale with another 30k miles/2 years ownership - it cost me fuel/insurance and under £1k on brakes/tyres for a 275bhp beast that left the Joneses wanting to keep up
Would I run one without a warranty - not a chance - it had a couple of expensive trips to dealer/MOT issues but all sorted by excellent Jaguar dealer network0
