    4/17 for me please

Monday and Thursdays are easy for me. I’m driving in the evening and then have to be up by 5.30 am. I’d be too scared if wine in my system to drink. Plus getting up that early after wine is too hard especially with work afterwards.

    7/24 AFDs today
  • Today I met someone ( through work ) and they very openly told me that they were a recovering alcoholic,,, 4 and half months, this time , after many failed attempts, and different approaches, such as clinics , AA and so on ,,, in the end they moved away and so far so good ,
They still go to AA meetings , and take each day as it comes ,,,, we spoke as if we’d known each other for ages ,, I really understood what , and why they said the things they did , and they was impressed with my own personal , small journey, and seemed to think I was in the right mind set for setting myself free of the drink trap ,, we could have chatted for hours , I so glad I’d spoke to them ,,,,,funny how life puts someone like that in my day ,, at this time of my life ,,, don’t you think ???
    7/28 & 4/5. X
:money: I will never be rich but I'm happy :rotfl:
  • Loveasale: it's good that you were able to talk openly about this stuff, not easy (especially in a work context). Hooray for interesting people and good conversation :).

    8/25 and 5/5 for me.

loveasale - I do struggle when I go out and am not drinking alcohol as I don't like 'sweet' drinks. I usually just go for slimline tonic but there is only so much of that a girl can take

Declaring early for tonight on 4/12 please Shaggy

I usually go for an appletiser or Britvic 55 or whatever fizzy apple juice they have, or blackcurrant and water.

    6/22 for February
    and 5/5 for the SNC

Might have a few g&T's on Saturday night - going to football and depends on if my team win what I will feel like after!

I haven't done my blood pressure for ages as I needed to buy a new monitor. Got one yesterday and got 3 great readings this morning :T Pleased. :D No doubt the AFDs help.

I've 3 screening tests and blood tests/check up to get through this year (all age related). Fingers crossed. I've just booked one of them. Waiting for an appointment for another one of them...that's enough stress to be getting on with....
What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

Can I ask what you all drink when you go out and don’t drink ?

I love a decaf tea. Last weekend when we were out I had a T (ie a G and T without the gin!) Love a ginger beer, sparkling water or a mocktail....
