Morning
I drank yesterday but am feeling increasingly that I'd like to give up, or at least try for a long period of abstention. I don't feel terrible today, and I should after 2 bottles of red, which makes me think that my tolerance is far too high.
A friend has recently given up drinking altogether and recommended 'The truth about alcohol', so I've downloaded it to my kindle and will have a read.Say what you mean.. mean what you say... without being mean.0 -

I might be being too ambitious for February as we are away for a week but still trying really hard to lose weight and wine is a disaster - both for the calories and even more because then I eat more.
I do feel better after losing some weight but need to lose lots more. Very anti-social though and missing date nights out with OH as well as wine on Friday. Most other days I can do it and very pleased I haven't given in despite lots of stress but Fridays just feel different.
I may have missed something Maggie but looking at your target and score, there are still nights left for having a drink so why aren't you having date nights/socialising? :think:
It's avoiding empty calories that motivates me most (although health and finances are important). I've worked out that I can lose weight on 2 drinking days a week, maintain on 3 and gain on anything beyond that:(. It's about what's a balanced diet and keeping the treats (wine in my case) to that sort of level works for me.
No drinking today.

Oh sorry that's 30 AFDs for January.
For January this year I've had 7 units. In January 2011 I had 8 units (and 30 AFDs) my previous PB - so this year I'm beating my previous personal best in units....
I'm currently using my previous AFDs as targets to try and beat but you're right I should try and better my unit intake too...What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -

I've worked out that I can lose weight on 2 drinking days a week, maintain on 3 and gain on anything beyond that:(. It's about what's a balanced diet and keeping the treats (wine in my case) to that sort of level works for me.
