Everyone Welcome Anytime of the Month!
What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

    September 2017 Debt = £25330

    Starting afresh.

You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x
  • 15/25 and 4/5 for me today please.

Trying a new AF beer - I had to pop to the supermarket for a couple of bits and it was on offer. FreeDamm, a Spanish beer and it's 0.0%. £4 for 6 in Asda :)
  • Still no AFDs to report this month. Planning to get my first score on the board today. Well done Shaggy!

The hardest part is killing the anticipation during the late afternoon but once I'm past wine o'clock and had my dinner I'm fine. What I enjoy most is the early evening drinking, while I'm cooking. Is that unusual?

That was the glass of wine that used to scupper me in the early days of drinking! I soon learned that if I drank on an empty stomach while cooking, I'd go hell for leather the rest of the evening so I cut it out and took my first mouthful with my first mouthful of food. Stuck to that for about 15 years, too, although in the end it didn't stop me drinking waaaaay to much (for me).

The woman in the friend couple I'm most worried about starts her evening with a glass of wine while cooking and says it is her favourite of the day.

If you can stop after one or two, you're fine!

I must say three bottles of red plus a load of whisky sounds like a lot :(

It was and it is. Not clever, but the couple had just told us they're 'going home' to Glasgow after four unhappy years in this city, so he was celebrating, and OH hadn't tied one on for months so it was sort of inevitable - for them - I suppose. The female half of the couple gave up booze after Boxing Day 2017 until her birthday in December this year, so about three/four weeks time. She's been a complete misery the entire time, so I hope drinking lets her sense of humour out to play again. Seriously boring company without alcohol and I never thought I'd say that about anyone.

Who knew?! Dogs have to be walked in the early hours
They most certainly do when they've got a runny tummy and would rather go on the street than in the house on the carpets, or in the communal garden thank goodness. He's as good as gold and barks to wake me up, put his harness on, put his lead on, put my shoes on, put my jacket on and set off. He literally runs down the path, out of the gate, onto the pavement and around the corner. He's a brilliant dog because when he extrudes I know exactly what his problem is under those circumstances and if it were my tummy I couldn't wait as long as he does.

They get more sensitive digestions as they get older in my experience and he's a dog that will lick pavements to scoop up any old rubbish that's been dropped from the local takeaways. There are eight, fully eight, of the wretched things at the bottom of our road, so late night revellers chuck all sorts of 'food' away when they're on their way home after visiting said establishments. This dog thinks it's his own street buffet.

    15/30 please, Shaggy.
    Better is good enough.
