Cutting Down Alcohol Thread

Morning all, 10/21 for me today thanks.
Shaggy, I am definitely trying to cut back on alcohol to save money, but it's not my main motivation per se, which is health. But I have saved a heap through doing it and I did add it up at one point - it was well over £1,000 a year.0 -

Anyone Else? What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -

Yes please, Shaggy. Would you put me down for 3 again?:)
Money wasn't my main motivation in cutting down. What spurs me on most is not having empty calories but it all helps. Fortunately I've never been one that has to drink because it's in the house so I am able to take advantage of deals. For some time now I've been buying wine when it's 25% off.:money:
No drinking planned until Thursday when I'm out with friends.
8/10 AFDs please and 1/3 for the SNC.0 -

£10k in 10 years - that can make all the difference in retirement.
HOWEVER, I can't believe I'm older enough to be considering retirement! I'm 56 - I was a mere 47 when I joined this thread ha ha...What do we do when we fall? Me too as a permanent dieterFortunately I've never been one that has to drink because it's in the house so I am able to take advantage of deals. For some time now I've been buying wine when it's 25% off.:money:
We always have drink in the house - a fridge with a beer tray, a wine rack and spirits in a cocktail cabinet...but when I'm in the zone it makes no difference...it doesn't tempt me...
if I wanted a drink and there was none in the house...I don't have to walk far to find some...
But for quite a few years (since we paid off our mortgage) I haven't really paid attention to the cost so I'm sure there is some slack and we can do better and save a few bob...What do we do when we fall?
