Made it through the weekend without a drink! Yipeee!

    15 days of no alcohol!

I was very tempted on Friday, I have recently been made redundant and found out on Friday I got the job I had applied for! Normally I would celebrate with a few bottles of prosecco! Instead I swerved the alcohol isle in Tesco and treated myself to 2 bottle of ‘posh’ raspberry lemonade, drank it out of a wine glass just to feel special! Ha!

Normally we’d go out spend a ton of money and have the worst hangovers the next day, instead we ordered a pizza, drank posh lemonade and fell asleep on the sofa (it had been one of those weeks) How times change!

    First weekend in November passed.

    4/27 so far.

Congratulations on the new job and the avoiding the alcohol aisle!:T:T

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

    Hello. I'm back.

I'm still on target to do better than I did last year, but I am annoyed that I fell of the wagon for pretty much all of October. I did manage 9 days AF, but my issue is when I start, I don't seem to have an off button.

There was a time when my limit was 1 bottle of wine, then it crept up to 1 1/2 and now it seems to be 2.

I don't go out and get drunk, it's all drinking at home because I'm bored I guess.

I have tried this year to only drink at the weekend, but I was off work last week due to half term and I just generally lost the plot.

I have put on weight due to the drinking and just generally feel p00. I don't seem to get hangovers as such, just general tiredness.

I feel like I literally can't be bothered to do anything, I don't have any motivation to do anything. Even my older daughter's birthday, I simply couldn't wait for her friends to go home. And walking around town with my mum yesterday, I felt out of puff (but this could be just lack of exercise and weight gain, who knows).

And so I am back. I still don't feel committed enough to say enough is enough and I am giving up, but I know I should.

I'm even having the pains that people describe. Like where I imagine my kidneys are, they slightly ache.

Ho hum. Just thought I'd come here and moan, haha. But I am committed to the no drinking Monday to Thursday as it helps with the 5:2 diet I am (yet again) starting.

I have just discovered this thread!

I am trying to do an alcohol free month (although not a calendar month!) from 14th October to 14th November.

So far I had one drink the first Friday night (and only because my husband didn't know I was trying to be alcohol free - so he though he would surprise me with my favourite drink when I got home from work, and he had it poured with ice in it, waiting for me - it was so sweet I couldn't say no!)

So that's the only drink in 22 days

Found it difficult this weekend - even went to the pub, and had apple juice

    Hi PollyAnna,

Do you want to join any of our challenges? We have a school night challenge for this week - Monday to Thursday....and a monthly challenge for November - still 26 days left...

Or maybe you just want to chat! That's OK too....

but keep chatting whatever you decide - we all find it helps...

I've always resisted the challenges on here, not too sure why though, haha. And I don't set myself a target.

    Gosh, I'm destined to fail!

But yes, I would like to do the Sunday - Thursday challenge as I didn't drink last night.

And I must admit, it felt good getting up and being awake for once. Which was good as it was back to school and work today!
