This sort of behaviour happens more often than you'd think. A few years ago in Aberdeen some wee ned shat down someone's chimney. A crime Grampian Police said was "unpleasant and unusual," but not that unusual as it turns out.

Yes If I were the OP I would be livid too. I've never had something as bad as that happen to me but I have had a plumber leave poo-prints (fingers prints made of poo) over part of my bathroom. I don't think it was done out of badness I just think that cleaning his bum without making an almighty mess was beyond his capabilities.

I didn't see anywhere that OP specifically said that everyone doing the work in her house was male. This is quite a stretch to see sexism in any scenario IMO. More likely the poo-dooer was either an idiot or just not a nice person.

I'm sure it is anti-social behaviour, but that isn't a crime in itself.
"Criminal damage" seems more likely.

Get a private DNA test done. The workmen who didn't do it will probably provide a DNA sample to clear themselves. Whoever refuses is the culprit.
