Nationwide Recommend a friend question

Hi
I have a joint Santander 123 account with my wife.
I have an existing Nationwide account.
Can I recommend my wife as a friend thereby gaining £100 each or will Nationwide cotton onto the fact that I`m named in the joint account as I know you can`t recommend yourself. Just trying to see if I can bend that rule a little.
Any help well appreciated

IMHO you'd do better to have your wife open a Santander basic account for herself and then switch that- that way you should be assured of the £100.
What do the t&cs say?Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

We both have our own Santander 123 a/c`s and a joint one - it was the joint one I was thinking of moving as we dont have as much savings in there as the other two and I dont think I could get away with taking my name off as she would then have two accounts which I don`t think you can do0

If she opens an Everyday account then you can move all of the money from your joint account to the new one and then intiaite a switch using "refer a friend". If you still want a joint account then you could always open another one.0 -
My partner & I originally opened a JT account with Nationwide. He recommended me for a personal account and we got £100 each. He’s looking to switch his main account from Halifax and we’ve been told if I now recommend him we’ll still qualify and get a further £100 each!0
