Hi, my girlfreind and I are about to move into a house in the next few weeks and are looking into getting a joint account to pay the bills etc, does anyone have any recommendations on what account to go with? Thanks

In general, just use the same criteria as you would for choosing a normal bank account and apply for it in joint names.
The main exception to this is if you go for a packaged account (i.e. one with a monthly fee which includes things like insurance products. In some cases if you open it as a joint account the monthly fee is the same but the benefits apply to both account holders. This may also be the case with some free accounts that provide perks (e.g. Barclays Premier). Check the T&C for the specific accounts you are considering.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon

There are some accounts that reward you for paying bills through them - normally with a fee, other's may have benefits such as interest. Have a look at what would best suit your situation.
You can always use a sole account for bills - it doesn't have to be joint.
Are you aware of the financial link created with a joint account too? (already there if you have a joint mortgage but not if you are renting).I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Budgeting & Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Credit File & Ratings and Energy boards. I wasnt aware you could just use the same criteria as applying for a normal account I will take that on board thanks. We just really need a bank account we can both deposit money into and that pays the bills nothing too fancy.0

Do you have any sole current accounts open that you don't use as you could also look at bank providers who will give you money for switching and also cashback on direct debits?I work in the banking industry
Any posts given on here and not to be taken as advice just simply my views on the original post.0
