Hi Cumbria, hope you're well
I'm good thank you, just been so busy so I forget to post on here!
I'm looking into doing a therapy course. It doesn't start until October this year, but applications need to be in within the next few months. My employer have funded another employee to do it in the past but funding is tight. I'm willing to fund it myself if they can give me the study leave to do it (which is about 10 days per year).
I'm going to speak to someone this week and I feel really anxious about it, as though I'm being unreasonable, when in fact I'm willing to saddle the cost so I don't know how they could view that as unreasonable! Maybe I feel like I don't deserve to ask for help. Anyway we'll see.
It's only another month until our week away so we're both looking forward to that0 -
Great to hear from you and that you are busy always good. No harm in asking your employers about study leave , they can only say no , but they could so yes so take a chance. The holiday is edging closer , bet you can't wait. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Yes I feel I need to come up with a "plan B" if they say no. My head goes to worse-case scenario so I need to stop doing that!
Yes, having a week off is what we need to give our heads some downtime0 -

Well, my supervisor and line manager are supportive of me doing the course
There's no money in the pot for them to fund the fees (which I expected) BUT, they are supportive of giving me study leave and paying my travel expenses to/from the course venue (I have to go there ten times in the first year and probably the same in the second year).
I'm really excited as I've wanted to train in a specific therapy for a long time. All I need to do now is make sure I get an interview and then pass it!!
It was supposed to be "warmer than Greece" here this weekend, but I assume that Greece is pretty cold right now as it's grey and cloudy here :rotfl:0 -
I'm so pleased for you Lilith!:j. That's wonderful!

That is great news and I’m sure you will do brilliantly at the interview0 -
Thanks SSG and Munchin!
We've ventured out with the pooch and it wasn't too cold, even though it's grey, so it was nice to get out0
