Thanks Uniscots. Yeah I think we run the risk of almost punishing ourselves if we never have the odd treat0 -

Well, tonight for the first time in 12 years I went to a supermarket to do my monthly shop!
I was going to go to Aldi on Saturday but thought s*d it, let's get it done tonight with hubby helping me. I was armed with my list, which I'd written in the order that the items were in the shop. I felt like I was in Supermarket Sweep, putting things in my trolley as quick as possible :rotfl:
We got home and the whole trip, including travel time, took us 30 minutes :T
We have some items we can't get from Aldi coming from Tesco early next week and then that'll be the monthly shop finished. Very pleased with myself. I didn't have a meltdown!
Homemade carrot soup tonight for dinner. I didn't manage to get a YS loaf from co-op last night as we obviously didn't go late enough (even though we went at 8.30pm) so we just got a normal priced loaf as a treat. We don't normally buy fresh loaves.
Had some points come back from Swagbucks for items I'd bought through their site so I can redeem another £5 to pay off the MBNA card. I think I'll give it until June and then do a review of the numbers to see how I'm getting on.
Hope everyone is having a good Thursday...weekend is almost here again0 -

Ugh, so my car did its sluggish thing again this morning. That's the third time in as many months. Again, it was very cold. It's weird because when I first pulled away from my house it was fine. It was when I stopped at the first junction and then tried pulling away that the power just went out of it. It happened at this same junction the previous time too.
I rang my local garage who suggested putting super-unleaded petrol into it as it might be a fuel problem, and he said it would be hard for them to know unless I came in when the problem occurred. I'll try that and see what happens. I now wish I'd kept my 2004 car which never missed a beat. I just thought it was getting old and was best to buy a newer one before things started going wrong. The irony!
Hubby's going to look under the bonnet tomorrow to see if he can see anything. Perhaps I just need to let it sit there with the engine running for a bit longer to warm the engine up. The last thing I want right now is a huge car bill when I've only just paid off a few hundred pounds on the credit card
In more positive news, got some shampoo and conditioner through the post which I'm product testing so that'll save me some ££ in having to pay for more myself
Thank crunchie it's Friday!0 -
