Happy pay day ⭐️My NSD’s weren’t great for June either. It must have been something in the air!Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

I like the sound of pearl barley risotto, is it easier to make than it is with rice ? As for husbands and their schedules like I said elsewhere tonight I'm glad I'm single 😀

I haven’t had barley since I was a nipper. My mum used to it in soup and I hated the texture - used to have a row of it around my plate where I’d picked it out 😳…..something I could do with trying again I suppose.January spends - £587.584

Happy July 😎
Let the July challenge begin 😆
The Regular Saver has now matured so the credit card has been cleared and the rest has gone into the holiday pot. Next goal is to clear the additional borrowing part of the re-mortgage by 1 August 2022. I can overpay by £1500 a year so the aim is to do this which will leave an outstanding balance of approx £3,000 to pay. The new Regular Saver started today, I'm putting in the maximum allowed of £250 a month and this is to pay off said balance next year.
I'm now on a mission to track all spends and stick to my weekly budget no more free range spending.
Have been to Aldi this morning for a few things so a spending day. Managed 10 NSDs in June, it was made more difficult by having to keep buying things to finish the bedroom. The target for July is 15.
I need to buy a paint roller and tray at lunchtime from the local shops. I tried to paint the bedroom cupboard with a large paintbrush but it will take me forever as the walls are covered in thick textured wallpaper. I don't want to strip this wallpaper off as it might be holding the walls up 😆 It's only a storage cupboard after all so don't want to go mad with having it re-plastered or anything. I really want this job finished by the end of the week so I can start moving things back into it from the spare room. Once the spare room is tidy I want to get a quote for having it re-plastered and painted.
Still sticking to my goal of 15,000 minimum steps a day - 5,000 before I start work, 5,000 before the afternoon shift and 5,000 before I go and have my bath at 6pm. Further exercise goals are 3 runs a week, 2 pilates/yoga sessions and 3 HIIT sessions.
Today's cleaning task is the living room. Tonight's dinner is tuna steak, tomato and basil rice and veg.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
Alan Titchmarsh has no need to worry about Mr SA taking his gardening crown. The very large pepper plant he’s growing in the greenhouse and labelled as such has turned out to be a sunflower 🤣🤣I think I need to supervise any future seed planting.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)9

I apologise for bursting out laughing - as least it wasn't a weed!

As a special treat I used to be allowed to make lemon barley water (a la Shirley Goode!), and my mother used to use the cooked pearl barley in other meals.
