Happy Thursday
Not been for a walk yet as I want to go to Aldi later. I have a webinar to attend this morning then I'm going to Aldi. I work flexi hours fortunately so can manage my time to suit both me and work.
My regular saver account matures at the end of this month and I've opted to start a new one. The interest rate is lower than last year, no surprises there, but 0.75% isn't too bad at the moment. I'm continuing with the maximum investment of £250 a month so at the end of June next year I'll have £3k plus a bit of interest. This will be used to repay the balance on the additional borrowing part of my remortgage. The balance will be approx £4300 so the plan is to overpay the maximum allowed of £1500 then clear the remainder with the regular saver pot. I'll then be left with a very small mortgage.
I've felt a bit adrift without a plan in place now the bedroom is done so this is my current goal. I've been a bit kerfuffled since the bedroom work started and want to get back into a routine with finances, exercise and meal planning. I'd quite like to get the spare room/gym replastered as soon as I can as when I stripped the wallpaper off half the plaster on one wall came down with it! I can't get this done until I've put all the bedroom stuff back and I can't do that until I've sorted the small room that runs off the main bedroom that I used as a walk in wardrobe. Not looking forward to moving the treadmill though as it weighs a ton.
It's never-ending!

0.75% interest isn't at all bad at the moment - the norm for easy access accounts seems to be around the 0.5% mark and lower. It'll be great when you clear the additional borrowing part of the mortgage leaving you with the small balance. When do you think you'll be completely mortgage free? Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

I had to smile about ‘only’ 14k…..that’s not a lot by today’s standard, I know…..our first mortgage was 7k…..little terraced house cost us £8,250……seemed like a milestone around our necks 😳😳January spends - £587.586

Mr SA is driving me nuts, what time am I setting out tomorrow, what time will I be home, will I be back in time to cook his dinner 😩 Lots of snide comments and disguised threats too. I’ve told him to get used to it because once things get back to near normality I’ve got a long list of friends to meet up with. He was worse before he got ill, would be really nasty if I was doing something without him and I’d be wearing a hair shirt for days. The difference now is I just tell him to @&£#@ off which is what I should’ve done years ago.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)11

Happy Friday 🥂🥳
Don’t worry I won’t let him spoil my day, he can sulk as much as he wants. I’ve got to put my foot down now or it will be a nightmare when I retire.
Going to walk into town, takes about 30 minutes, potter round a few shops, I need some cooking white wine from Waitrose, the only place I know that sells it. Then go for a coffee before getting the bus to my friend’s house. Not been on a bus for about a year, will be strange. Will be strange putting on make up and doing my hair. I just let my hair dry naturally at the moment, can I remember how to use a hairdryer 🤣
So will be a few spends today but all in a good cause 😁
Best get cracking.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)9 -
