Oh no hope he takes notice of you don’t let him spoil it you have put so much thought into it5

Oh dear 😔
Must be hard for him to accept that he can't do things that at some point would have been simple jobs.
Can't wait to see the finished room.7 -
I let him have a go, it’s taken him almost an hour to put one bracket up unsuccessfully. He’s made a right mess, has left a massive hole. I wish he’d listened to me and hadn’t been so stubborn. Going to try the bloke who put our greenhouse up, if he’s not available there’s a couple of odd job people on the local FB group I can try. He wasn’t the best at DIY before but has definitely lost the knack now.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

That's a shame - both for Mr SA and the wall! Reminds me of my dad - he was quite good at simple DIY - putting shelves up etc and also did all the decorating. As he got old though his powers failed and bodge jobs were the result. It used to drive my mum mad that he didn't want anyone in to do the jobs though - she used to have a real fight with him over it. ☹️Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Oh how frustrating. I understand bodge jobs when there’s no alternative, but not when you can get it done properly. (I once patched up a wall with cardboard and a pot of ready mixed filler in complete desperation...it looked really good when I painted it, but I often wonder if the people who bought that house ever tried to hang curtains at that point 🤭). At least he knows now that he can’t do it, so should let you do it your way!Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Oh dear. If you need to fill the hole and hang the bracket anywhere near it can I suggest "Hard as Rock" filler by Tetrion. I had to use it to put a bracket up where the cat had repeatedly climbed a curtain and pulled the bracket loose. It sets hard enough to be drilled for a new hole. I bought it from ebay but the other selling place has it too.7

Ooh thanks for that tip Cranky, that’s very handy to know 👍I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

Mr SA took the dog out, came back and promptly fell through the patio doors into the kitchen, fortunately they were open. I was sitting there learning my Spanish when he came flying through the doors, nearly gave me a heart attack. Another corker of a bruise on it’s way. I’m not joking it’s like living with someone who’s permanently drunk the way he crashes about everywhere 😩I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

Oh dear. Hope he is OK.5
