The only thing I want now is a lemon puff. They were quite the childhood treat. I was only keen on the sugary top - the bottom was a bit tasteless.4

My son loves banana loaf have copied it and will print off have a go at making it with him this weekend. Thanks for that need to get back into doing a bit of cooking gives wife a break and keeps my mind off other things at the weekends.Nope, can’t remember lemon puffs that’s a new one to me. Could just be too young lol mind my parents were mad over food and what we could and couldn’t eat - my dad was and still is a massive food snob and mum is not much better so don’t remember that much about ‘junk’ food from back in the day. Made up for it in adulthood haha.6

My mum wasn’t a great cook unfortunately so we mainly ate ready made food from M&S, she even bought ready made mash from there 😆 She used to spend a fortune in M&S food hall. This is probably why I don’t eat anything ready made now. As a result I left home unable to cook a thing. I was a bit of a pampered princess and my mum did everything, I didn’t have to lift a finger. I soon got into the swing of cooking and cleaning though so no real harm done.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7

My mum couldn't cook either. She learned what she knew from my gran - my dad once said with wonder in his voice that my gran was the only person he knew who could cook fish and make it taste of nothing. Luckily my nana (dad's mum) was a constant presence in my life until she died when I was 14 and I learnt to cook, bake, knit and crochet. Thanks to his mum my dad could also cook. I've tried to teach my son but he has zero interest so I've taught him to microwave ready meals. Maybe when he's older he'll want to do more.6

My daughter wasnever interested in learning to cook when she was young but she solved the problem by marrying a chef. She does cook a bit now but prefers baking.

I’ve finally ordered the bedroom furniture after much dithering. I’ve gone for warm white with light oak tops to break up all the plain white in the room. My usual go to place for furniture, Cotswold Company was awaiting stock for the things I liked, up to 20 weeks on one item, so I’ve ordered from Chiltern Oak, not used them before but they have good reviews and responded straight away to my email query. Went via Top Cashback so will get £25 back. Delivery is 5-10 working days so hopefully they won’t arrive until the floor is done.
Went to Aldi before work this morning and picked up quite a few plants for the tubs. The snails/slugs have eaten the sunflowers 😩 Of course Mr SA blamed me for removing the slug pellets. Added to my list for tomorrow is pet friendly slug pellets. Got tomorrow off work so going to The Range to look for bedroom bits. Hoping to at least come back with a lampshade if nothing else.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7 -
Ha we’ve totally failed with the sunflowers too mate.Re Chiltern Oak one of my tenants bought a load of stuff from there I’m fairly sure anyway and was/ are very happy with the furniture. Last time I went round the property it looked smart so hopefully will work out. Would avoid the range though look like you’ve raided every tenanted house in NG haha. Seriously the stuff there is not great.3
