On the plus side I got 3 loads of washing dried outside today thanks to a largely dry day and the wind. It’s the little things... 🙂I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8

I managed to finish putting slate down in the front borders in between rainy spells. Like you say, it's the small things.4

Hope you have a peaceful night and Mr SA is back in the same time zone as you tomorrow.
Yay to the washing - I put mine out and it rained when it was about 85% dry, which is quite good going for this year.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

Morning all, happy Monday
Have been for a run this morning, still very chilly out there, felt like going back for my coat but soon warmed up once I got going.Today will be NSD10 of May. Painter has just arrived and I’m still in my dressing gown 😱Cleaning today is the kitchen and dining room. Tonight’s dinner is butternut squash risotto.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8 -
Wow the painter is on the ball 👍 sounds promising 👏👏
it must be a constant worry with Mr SA. When you think of what he went through though it is incredible that he can do the things he does and is not totally incapacitated. We have sunshine here this morning....why couldn’t it have been like this on dh days off instead of persistently piddling down 😏January spends - £587.586 -
Done a pre-payday shuffling around of pots, lent myself the majority of the holiday pot to pay for the bed, will be able to put this back when my regular saver matures at the end of June. Not sure when/if we'll be going on holiday, waiting for the need to have Covid tests removed from travel requirements plus Greece and Lanzarote not on the green list at the moment, if we have to wait until next year so be it.
Emergency fund £5400.00
Christmas £310.73
Bedroom £705.00 (this should be plenty to cover the painting and flooring)
Holidays £280.00
Regular Saver £2750.00
My secret stash £200.00
Spending £100.00 - this is Mr SA's cheque from Motability, have shoved it in a spending pot, no doubt he'll come up with something he wants before long
From July onwards I will be back on the case of adding to the holiday pot. New goal will be to have enough saved to clear the additional borrowing part of the re-mortgage by the end of July 2022 when the fixed rate ends, then I'll just be left with a very small mortgage which will be on track to be gone well before I retire.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8 -
Painter will be done tomorrow, looks good already with just the undercoat. Flooring man coming with samples this afternoon. I’m hoping he can lay the floor this week so we can start moving back in at the weekend. Made a list of all the extras I need to buy to finish off the room and estimated cost, will be well within budget.Waiting for it to stop raining so I can take the dog out.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

It’s all systems go at yours. Hope they can sort your flooring for you then you can get back in the bedroom.
I don’t blame you waiting until the restrictions are lifted before you go away. I’ve just been listening to our local news and the rates are rising slowly......it’s quite worrying again.
The finance pots are looking good too......especially getting rid of the mortgage before you retire 🤞January spends - £587.584
