Good news on the cost of painting, then! And I think you are wise not to have used brute force on the tap: we did that once and ended up replacing the bathroom suite! It's too easy to shatter something.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Happy Friday 🥳🥂
What rubbish weather 💨☔️ Have been to Mr T for a jar of coffee and some biscuits for the builders and got soaked. It will fall to me to take the dog out today as Mr SA shouldn’t really get his scooter wet.
Will be a big spend day today as I think the joiner will have finished today and will need paying. All budgeted for though and the money ready. Years ago I’d have done some jiggery-pokery involving credit cards. Having said that, years ago Mr SA would’ve probably tackled the job himself with varying degrees of success.Tonight’s dinner is tuna steak with Mexican rice and veg, fish and chips for Mr SA. Doing a month’s meal plan has worked really well and I’ve got rid of quite a few bits of food that had been around for a while. Will carry on doing this.
DS and family are going away for a long weekend today to a lodge with a hot tub. What a shame about the weather. We are urged to stay in the UK for holidays but unfortunately our weather just isn’t reliable enough.
Have a fabulous Friday.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7 -
It might not have for you but that week has flown over can’t believe the joiner has finished it’s a nice feeling having the money saved I have saved what I need for my new house I have even organised who I am getting to do them years ago I would have been jiggling cards and loans to pay it and the hubby is not doing any of it he is handy but not a professional and I’m sick of that will do and it looks alright jobs6

As you know, @Sun_Addict, we're busy refurbing too. Isn't it lovely when things are finished? We quite like painting, but have paid for a professional 'do' this time (first time ever!) because we want a high quality finish that we can maintain. Neither of us can wallpaper for love nor money, despite me being crafty, practical & good with my hands. I don't know why I can't do it! Enjoy your new room. Our bedroom feels ever so peaceful now, in its new soothing colour scheme.
