I do get fed up of having to do everything. I’m so glad DD is still living with us, it’s a comfort to know someone else is there should I need help with him. I’m afraid I have no patience at all, I’m definitely not a natural carer. I’m dreading the non essential retail opening back up because he’ll restart his lists of things he wants. He watches the news avidly and knows the date when they’re re-opening. Despite his extensive brain damage and being in hospital for so long he didn’t forget the PIN number on the credit card. I forget it if we go on holiday for a week.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

You might not be a natural but its very obvious how much care you provide as well as working full time.
I have care responsibilties for my mum and she lives an hour away. I do almost everything for her plus my own home, job, business and family. She's by far the hardest job.8 -
It is hard SA my hubby hasn’t been well for a few years not to the degree of mr SA but he’s hard work I always say I would never make a nurse but i always think it must be nice to just have a day off and have somebody else think for me9

I have nothing but admiration for you SA. As Warby says it is hard being the one doing everything and at least you have your DD at home still as moral support if nothing else. My mum is the sole carer for my stepdad who has advanced dementia and she says the same that everything is down to her to sort out. SA, I've always had empathy for you but now I'm just beginning to understand how this really affects your life. I don't know how you have handled it for so long.My DH is now showing first signs of dementia. Mostly, he's fine but sometimes forgets things. Yesterday we watched a Brit show (we're in Australia but I was born in England). They showed pics from Leeds and DH turned to me and asked if we had ever been there. Duh. We were there last year. I said don't you remember the Trinity Mall? No. How about the taxi drive out to see the house I was born in? No. Hmm. How about the apartment we stayed in where we went down every morning for coffee and pastries? Oh yes, I remember that. Food does it every time. This morning he screwed up his computer big time and had to ask for help. He had no idea how it happened. "I just touched a few things". Took over an hour to get it fixed. Like I said, I seriously feel for you and feel your pain. When we promised to love, cherish and care for we never envisioned this, but it is what is it. Take care my friend, for that is how I think of you.xx Eve7

I’m sorry to hear about your hubby Eve, dementia is a cruel disease. You have to take it one day at a time to cope or it will drive you mad. Take care of yourself too.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8

Morning, happy Thursday
Have been to Aldi this morning, was only meant to be picking up a few things, managed to spend £34!! I did pick up a new microwave steamer as mine is past its best plus a box of grass seed so not all spent on food. It’s the awards ceremony this afternoon, not holding my breath for winning anything but it will be something nice to attend even if only virtually. Hopefully won’t have to put my camera on but will brush my hair just in case 😆
Making spiced butternut squash stew with herby dumplings for tonight’s dinner, will make two portions and have the other for tomorrow’s lunch. Making Mr SA a slow cooker beef stew with herby dumplings. Cleaning is the bedroom. Exercise is dog walking and abs, did 8k steps this morning so off to a good start.
Ordering Mr SA a tough phone case today. Typical that the Unicorn Beetle cases fit every phone but his. Have found a similar case though so hopefully it’s half decent.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7 -
Dont wear your pyjamas for the awards just in case. Good luck.

Good luck this afternoon......hope you’ve got an acceptance speech prepared 👏👏👏
Eve I’m so sorry about your husband.....it is such a cruel illness. It broke my heart to see my sister in law with early onset - in her 40s. It’s so very hard at any age though.Fingers crossed that the phone case does it’s job 👍January spends - £587.586
