They should do OBL plus anyone who has had to work through the pandemic to keep the country going. Time to recognise the key workers 👏I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

@Sun_Addict it may not be worth it for the fall out but in your shoes, I'd be sorely tempted politely to tell SIL where she gets off. It's none of her business; I'd like to see her dealing with everything half as well as you do. Carry on exactly as you are, you're fab. Love Humdinger x5

I think every family has that one member who sticks their nose in where it is not needed or wanted.
Don't let them influence your choices. It is your home to do as you wish.5 -
Happy Saturday 🥂SIL has always stuck her oar in with the house, I’ve never taken any notice. She doesn’t say anything to my face because she knows what my response will be. I wouldn’t mind but she doesn’t interfere by helping out with Mr SA. I’d love it if she came and picked him up and took him out for the day to give me a break but she never does.
Another lovely day, not a lot planned, just local shops and dog walking. Mr SA wants to watch the rugby this afternoon so will put my feet up with my book in another room and listen to Rylan on the radio, highlight of my week 🤣
Tonight’s dinner is curry, beef for Mr SA, veggie for me. Prosecco chilling in the fridge already 🍾I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7 -
Must be curry night tonight. Beef madras for us tonight 😄5

I can understand your annoyance with SIL. It's easy to dish out advice but she won't give up any of her time to help you 😡.
Great news on the pay rise 🎉.

Have had a good few hours gardening, just a general tidy up, have filled the garden waste bin. It was so warm in the sun I took my coat off. The dog has enjoyed pottering about but was being a pest with her ball. She’d already been for a ball run on the park, you just can’t tire her out.Need to decide what seeds to buy for sowing in the greenhouse. Thinking a mix of herbs, some flowers for planting, courgettes, chilli, lettuce and tomatoes.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8

Yesterday in the lovely warm weather our staffie X was standing in the graval just looking at me until I realised that she wanted her tarpaulin to lie on. It is a very big one and it stays down for the better weather so she can sun bathe. We do have to be careful she doesnt burn as her coat is very thin and has virtually no hair on her belly. She wont have sun cream on and if I try she runs away. She spent about an hour out there yesterday and then again this morning once the mist and frost cleared and it warmed up.I started to plant some seeds in pots this morning but found the compost was totally waterlogged and very cold so have put it in pots but have left them in the conservatory to drain and warm up.7

Both my cat and dog are sun lovers, they’ll bask for hours in the sun, they take after their owner 😆 Aw to your dog wanting to sunbathe lady holly 💕I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

Morning all, happy Sunday, another lovely sunny day, could get used to this
Today will be NSD 14 of February. Have done finances. Only a small underspend this week of £9.20 (although better than an overspend of course) which has been sent to the Christmas pot. I think I've made my mind up about the re-mortgage overpayment and the priority will be the bedroom refurb. Will phone a couple of firms tomorrow and get some quotes in.
Scores on the doors for week ending:
Windows/door £5585.00 (first payment will be going out tomorrow)
Mortgage £15,394.17
Re-mortgage £7537.81
Emergency Fund £5400.00 (£50 added today)
Christmas £152.44
House £1270.00 (£270 added today)
Overpayment £1340.00 (may become house fund?)
Holidays £1350.00 (£150 added this week)
Windows/door payments March to June £621.68
Regular Saver £2000.00
I'm keeping up adding money to the holiday savings because as soon as it's safe to travel abroad in a normal-ish fashion I'll be booking something. Obviously the usual end of April trip is off, August is a maybe, October is looking a good possibility - who knows. We usually go to Lanzarote in April and October and I know from being in touch with bar owners there they are giving the place a good clean up ready to welcome back UK visitors, they are desperate for us to go back, they were overjoyed when they heard how well our vaccine rollout was going.
Going to take the dog for a long walk today, might try the golf course walk again today. It was too muddy for Mr SA's scooter last time we went so now the ground is drier he should be ok. Just got a pork joint out of the freezer (from the meat pack) for Mr SA's dinner tonight, I'm going to use up my last slice of chestnut roast, we'll both have veg and roast potatoes.
