Perhaps the dog that was in the news recently with a limp - the one that turned out to be copying its owner - has come her attention and she thought it was worth a try?
Got to say I love this! They tell you dogs & other animals have very short memories. Must say I have thought that was a load of BS for over 50 years. Picture this, a dog bought by parents who wasn't going to do this & wasn't going to do that. Used to beat my father into bed more often than he did. So aged 6 he had to have an op to remove a lump on little toe - including the toe. So he had the op & had a massive bandage on the foot & limped for a while. Thank goodness we were in time (he lived to 19) even though it was malignant. But whenever he was in trouble he could be seen holding said paw in the air whilst in view, once out of view, say behind the settee, back on all 4s. He only stopped at 17 when he could no longer manage on 3 legs. That dog ate better than I did & travelled somewhat better too. He even stayed on Cheltenham Race Course for a few days in the late 70s, whilst its owners visited me when I lived down there. He even stayed with them in their caravan in central London. It is a dog's life!!!8 -
alt80 said:Will check out thanks - been thinking about getting away from Sainsbury’s for everything tbh.
Do a weekly meal plan and only buy the items needed on the ingredients list. You could set this as a weekly family challenge to cook nice fresh meals and come in under a £100 budget per week. Get everyone involved in the planning, ordering and buying, meal prep and cooking. Make it a real family effort. It will teach your son some good life lessons as well on budgeting, planning and cooking.7 -
Yay it's Friday 🎈🎉👏
My dog has got a really good memory. A few years ago we were walking her locally and a dog barked at her from behind a hedge. It really startled her as she couldn't see the dog. She still refuses to walk past that house.
Hoping for a quiet day work-wise, catch up with bits and bobs and a short training session this afternoon - any training undertaken on a Friday afternoon has a big chance of being totally erased from memory over the weekend 😆
DD has paid her board, I usually send this over to the holiday pot but this month it's being mainly used for the vet bill, seeds, Valentines and a couple of other bits. Not spending much on Valentines but Mr SA insists on getting me something, he's on strict instructions not to spend a fortune, it will only be flowers though. He's the world's worst at choosing flowers, always manages to pick a bunch that have heads missing and only lasts a couple of days. When he was well and working he would spend a fortune on a present for me, really go over the top. It wouldn't bother me if we did nothing for the day, I can't be doing with anything soppy but he likes to mark the occasion. It's DIL's birthday soon so her present will come out of this pot too.
Exercise will be Joe's PE, walking the dog and a treadmill run after work. Tonight's dinner is stir fry for me, fish, chips and mushy peas for Mr SA. Cleaning will just be general hoovering and a tidy up.
I've sent an oddment of £8.05 to the VSP so this now holds £109.27 and the credit card has been cleared. Today will be NSD 6.

Sadly a hearse and car have just pulled up at a neighbour’s house. Her husband was taken away by ambulance about 4 weeks ago. Not seen him since. They’ve only lived there for just over a year.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

They really need a tearful emoji round here. If Mr SA goes OTT top with flowers maybe a few of them could find their way to the neighbour or something? And you have just reminded me I completely forgot to contact someone I know who had just broken her leg - not that a message from me will speed her healing but it's nice to know you are thought of and I've certainly slipped up on this one.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. Talking about broken legs, it’s a year ago today I went back to the office after breaking mine. Little did I know it would only be for a month.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7

@RelievedSheff thanks I agree re food. Will mean me sorting it though, wife won’t she can’t deal with anything but doing Sainsbury’s online order - anything else top up or whatever I have to sort it. Not complaining or anything but would need to take over the food / meal planning for it to work.
