@beanielou I think it’s the no end in sight situation, if we had an end date we could cope with it. Annoying that the cruel wet markets in China that started this virus are still going ahead. This is what makes me so angry 😡I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)9

Awwww I'm sad to read you are feeling like this SA 😟 I was talking to my friend at work and she hasn't been feeling too good, she was also saying its because she doesn't know when or how it's going to end,I think quite a few people are struggling with this, I was ok about it all and was just willing to go with the flow then I started to wonder if and when it's going to end and started to feel quite down about it all, I'm just trying to do what you said and take it one day at a time, today has been good so I'm happy with that,I will deal with tomorrow when it gets here
Hope you feel better soon xxOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8949 -
Where's the old 'dodgy hug' emoji when we need it? I wonder if the sunshine kept us going and now it's gone all cold and grey it's harder to feel right.
Sending hugs anyway - we might not be able to see the end from here but we are one day closer to it.
I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I hope you're feeling better soon SA. It's hard to be positive sometimes and this whole situation is really messing with people's mental health. I'm desperate to get out with my friends and get some me time away from DH & the kids!!Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Why not put both SR & plain flour on your list then if you can get plain you can convert it! I only use plain flour now as it saves storing both. This is what Nigella Lawson says:- To create self-raising flour from plain flour - for 150g/1 cup plain flour use half-teaspoon baking powder and half-teaspoon of bicarbonate soda (also known as baking soda).7

Morning all (just) 😎 thank you for your kind comments.
Feel much more positive today thank goodness. Will be back to taking it one day at a time, for now there is no end date, it is what it is.
Thank you for the tip badmemory, I have plain flour and baking powder so just need to acquire some baking soda.
Payday today, finances done.
Nipped to Mr T Express early this morning, quite a few people about to say it was only 7.30. Waited at the end of an aisle to allow an elderly lady to pick up a paper and she thanked me for giving her space and went down the next aisle. Went to pick up my paper only for the same lady to come back down the aisle and walk straight past me, no social distancing - bangs head against wall 🙄
Then took the dog on the park for a good long run, we were the only ones there it was great.
Have painted the bathroom, made a right mess but have cleared it up. Needless to say I won't be giving up my day job 🤣 Paying a professional painter is worth every penny.
Talking about the day job, got a message from my manager this morning to say our team are coming off the helpline and back to our normal jobs. However, we may be asked to man the next helpline coming up in May.

I'm glad you're feeling better today SA. I think it's easy to get down if you think about the wider situation. I think it will end when they discover a treatment for the virus and they've already had some promising results from an antiviral drug which was created to tackle ebola and seems to be affective for coronavirus. If we can stop people becoming seriously ill and dying of the virus then it won't matter if we catch it and lockdown can end. I think they may find an effective treatment before they develop a vaccine. For now it's best to take one day at a time, but we're all bound to have wobbles.
How do you feel about going back to your normal job? Are you pleased? Well done for painting the bathroom 🙂. Also great news on the Mr M deliveries 🙂.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Hi SA I'm glad to hear you sound a bit more positive today, it's like a flaming roller coaster isn't it, well done on the bathroom painting,I did the cutting in on mine when this all started and I haven't touched it since,I did decide on my way home last night that I would have another go at it this weekend but I've got to go to my mum and dads on Saturday now so it probably won't get done again 😂,it's got to be the longest bathroom makeover ever,I started it in 2015 🙀😂🙀😂Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8947

Thanks both. We had a total bathroom and kitchen refurb 3 years ago so it was professionally painted, I had a tin of the paint left and still like the colour so it was just a case of going over the old paint to freshen it up. I'll be glad to go back to my normal job as it's busier than the helpline and keeps my mind active.
I've ordered a desk, I've wanted one for some time and it will make working from home so much easier. The mini desk I've got is ok for personal use but too small for work needs especially now I've got the big monitor as well as the Surface Pro. I won't want to go back in the office 🤣 I had to smile when I was putting the order through and the webchat kept popping up, I know all about this now I've had a go at it.
I had my house contents/buildings insurance renewal quote come through at £125 for the year, an increase of £13. I didn't think it was too bad and was just going to go with it. Just gone on Money Supermarket and got it down to £78 for exactly the same cover and less excess - super pleased with this result 😁🎉 They didn't even try to give me another quote when I rang to say I wasn't renewing. That's almost £50 I've saved in about 10 minutes of research. One advantage of being older and having a house that's never unoccupied.
