Sun_Addict said:When we first moved in our house in 1992 it had been empty for 18 months and the people who lived there before kept goats. There were several sheds with straw in them and loads of rats had nested in them. I saw a rat swim across the pond and I’m not joking it was the size of a small cat 😱 Obviously once we moved in they started to scarper. We don’t see many nowadays thankfully just the occasional one and the dog dispatches them fairly swiftly.Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8949

Morning folks, hope everyone is well
No goats Humdinger, I've got enough on my plate. Mr SA wouldn't look after them it would just be another job for me. They are amusing though.
Had a bit of a panic this morning when my work computer wouldn't turn on. Thanks to Google I've fixed it. Already taken the dog on the park but we didn't stay long as there were too many other people/dogs. I'll get Mr SA to take her later when it's quieter. Annoying for me though as it would be ideal to walk her before I start work. She won't go for a walk round the streets she just sits on the pavement and I feel awful dragging her. She's an awkward so and so.
Mr SA was totally confused last night and thought it was Friday. He still hasn't grasped the concept that DS and the GKs can't come to our house on Saturday because it's the law.

Isnt it amazing how many dogs are being walked at the moment. I dont know whether they would normally go elsewhere or that ones that rarely/never get walks are now getting them. We have seen so many "new" dogs it is astounding

I see predominantly dog walkers when I get my exercise - or couples in anoraks and bobble hats. They are probably all wondering where all the runners used to hang out before they took up running!
Mind you, Dh prefers to cycle and he says cycling seems to have become popular!
Mr SA has my sympathies: I'm frequently confused as to what day it is and it's going to be worse now we don't have DH's work week to keep us straight.

This bonkers woman was out running with her dog yesterday never seen her before (amongst about 5 others!) but she stood out cos she had her dog on an extendable lead attached to her belt and it nearly killed her when it saw my two and ran out in the road. I must say it was quite funny, dog clearly not used to be walked like that!Nevertheless she persisted.7 -
I've seen a woman out running with her dog and the lead attached to her belt. All very well if your dog is well-behaved and used to it.
Forgot to say happy April, hopefully things will start to improve at some point. Was sad to turn over my calendar and see the date we should've been going to Lanzarote. Oh well, it will still be there when this is all over, maybe we will get back in October, if not it'll have to be next year. Not even thinking about the August trip to Ibiza for my birthday. I just want this year to be over.
Anyway one positive is that I'd totally forgotten about my healing broken leg. Because I've not been doing all the pavement pounding there has been no swelling whatsoever and it feels normal now, can even do jumping jacks again.

Well it's good that your broken leg is healing SA
.
March was a very long month and I've got a feeling that April will be even longer! Anyway Lanzarote will still be there as you say. Maybe the money you've saved could go on house renovations when all this is over? Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Yes HH I think the money saved will go towards house stuff. I’d like a greenhouse although would have to be one easily constructed. I’d also love a summer house but again it’s the construction.Did a run on my treadmill after work. Sometimes things happen for a reason - I was going to get the council to pick up the treadmill as no longer used then I broke my leg and couldn’t manage to get it downstairs so cancelled the pick up. Then I used it to get back on my feet and now I am so glad I’ve still got it.Going to attempt local Iceland tomorrow as need a few bits for the weekend and think it will be better than going Friday or Saturday.Only just realised that this is the final week of budget period. I am so out of the loop right now ☹️I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8

It is lucky you kept the treadmill as I bet they'd be hard to buy now as everyone will be ordering home gym equipment!
A greenhouse or summerhouse would be lovely. I wish we had room for either of those in our back yard garden. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

SA - coming out of lurkdom to say I've been looking at greenhouses, and quite a lot of places offer installation. It's not cheap, but I suspect that they last longer if they've been put together professionally! I'm on my own for the duration of the lockdown, so opting for one fully-installed rather than having it delivered and then finding I can't put it up on my own!10
