Hope you're enjoying a nice warm day inside today rather than walking miles in the snow.

The snow is thawing, it's significantly warmer than yesterday :j

Took the dog on the park this morning while the snow was still there, she nearly had me over with her excitement. She's such a feisty little thing, a big dog came up to her and she just chased it off.

Made the decision not to go to WW this morning as whichever route I take it's down a very steep hill, no way I'm risking that. Just went to the local shops which are on the flat luckily.

I've finally got round to doing the finances after having absolutely no idea where I was with things, the snow has really thrown me out this week.

    Totals:
    Credit card £0
    Holiday £120/900
Dining room £0 (after paying the painter)
    Emergency fund £2000/10,000
    VSP £187.55
MSP £59.15 (might be adding some to this tomorrow)
    Spend pot £30
    Groceries £90

Really need to get back on track now, lost my mojo a bit last month. It's when I get busy in the week and lose track of things. I was doing really well in January.

    March goals:

Lose 4lb - only 1lb to get back to goal but would like to be a bit under for hols
    Gym - 12 sessions
    AFD - 12
    NSD - 12
    Emergency fund £300
    Holiday savings £300
Save as much as I can towards dining room floor

Still needed to finish dining room:
    Flooring
    Rug
    Curtain pole
    Curtains
    Pictures
    Desk and chair
    Cushions
    Lamp
    Lampshade

Would eventually like to get a small sofa or big comfy chair - already have an old small sofa in there but it's past it's best, will have to suffice for now though.

DS and family are meant to be moving house today. They live 20 miles further north than us and they get snow there quite a lot, not sure how they'll manage it. His OH has got a big family and her two brothers were supposed to be helping them. Will ring later on and see how they got on.

Hope everyone is having a great Saturday

Are you a member of your local FB selling pages? There are often sofas on our practically brank new. Although I milust admit, we live very close to a very affluent area (where all the footballers and rich kids live) and they often say things like ‘sofa from second lounge so barely used ....’ Xx

    Thanks ladies :)

Anyway the talk of gin on Lucky's thread reminded me I have a gin story: everyday on my way home from work I've passed a little off licence with a poster on the outside advertising pink gin for £11.99 a bottle. As I'm rather partial to pink gin I decided to pop in and buy one when I got paid. Went in on Thursday, couldn't see it so asked the shopkeeper where it was. "Pink gin" he said looking at me incredulously. Yes I said the pink gin you're advertising on the poster in the window. He laughed and shook his head. A customer in the shop also looked at me and said "pink gin whatever next". Anyway I exited the shop disappointed. Noticed as I was closing the door a poster advertising rhubarb gin, I daren't go back in and ask for that.

So yesterday on the way home from work, defeated by the lack of pink gin, popped into Lidl and picked up a bottle of ordinary gin. Despite the assistant removing the security tag at the till it set off the alarm on the way out. Cue security guard who escorted me back into the store and made me empty my bag. He held up the bottle and said "gin" checked the receipt and sent me on my way.

Ever feel like you're not meant to buy something!

DS and family now installed in their new home :) We'll go and see them when they've settled in.

I was just going up for a bath an hour ago when Mr SA informed me he wanted a G&T when I got out. Got out of the bath all nice and warm and relaxed to hear him shouting don't forget my G&T! My patience is being tested big time, he's close to wearing the bloomin' G&T!

Keep forgetting to mention - DD's fella seems to have disappeared and there was no Valentine's card this year. She's also been keeping a very low profile for the past couple of weeks. Guess that's all hopes of her moving out dashed.
