Beanie a friend of mine stopped using Specsavers because of the rubbish frames. Personally I go to Boots and have had no problems despite using my glasses daily for computer work. Mr SA isn't bothered as he rarely reads, his brain injury means he can't concentrate to read anyway.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Boo to getting wet - it’s been awful. Roll on summer.
Hope Me S knees are ok and he isn’t hurt badly.January spends - £587.580 -
Hope Mr SA's knees recover quickly. I've no problems with Specsavers frames though I went to them for a hearing test (the doctors have outsourced these!) and the room wasn't nearly as sound proof as the NHS one I attended years ago. I do hear different reports about eye care depending on which branch people attend but in their defence they picked up two potentially serious things with my sight and have always had time to explain things to me. (Both the things healed up but I have ongoing checks to monitor the healing though I have no symptoms).
You've done really well returning all those items for refunds. It's worth the effort isn't it.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I find looking at recipes on my iPad really frustrating as the screen switches off in between stages and I have to keep switching it back on - drives me mad :rotfl:
Yep - that is the problem reading recipes this way milann....:rotfl:
I hope Mr SA's knee is on the mend.
I've used Boots opticians for quite a few years now and have always found them good. I get Advantage points as well. I've never used Specsavers though.
Hope you manage to fit in a few things today. Have a good weekend SA.

Finally I emerge

OMG yesterday, the GKs were here for 4 hours, tired and fractious from a party earlier in the day. DS's GF hair cost her £95  she daren't tell DS. She had ombr! colours in her hair - rose gold. She has red hair so they had to use extra colour. It looked lovely but no way would I pay that much. It's only a little hairdressers at the end of our road - which is a little suburban area not city centre, they are brilliant hairdressers though, ex Tony and Guy, and win loads of awards.
I'll stick to my £5.95 box of colour methinks :rotfl:
Didn't go to WW yesterday, felt a bit off yesterday and needed to try and get a few bits done before the arrival of the GKs.
I've spent all day today catching up with yesterday. Cleaned the whole house, decluttered my toiletries and moved them into the hairdressers trolley in the spare bedroom, made a really nice Thai butternut squash soup for work lunches, done the finances, meal plan, emptied the washing basket and been to Lidl for an olive tree. Phew!!
The week ahead - work tomorrow, planning a run at lunchtime, Tuesday work at home, Wednesday work at home plus the dreaded Mr SA consultant appointment, Thursday work another lunchtime run. Friday work and a lunchtime catch up with work friend.
Mr SA says he feels quite well so hoping for a good bloods result on Wednesday.
The weather has been fab here today thank goodness, managed to clear the washing basket
CC has been cleared too. Need to be careful spends wise for the next couple of weeks but don't envisage any major spends so should be ok. I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
£95 blimey! How often will she have to have the colours redone?
I'm glad you managed to recover from the DGC's visit and get lots of chores done. I'm glad I wasn't the only one indoors on a lovely sunny day. I like the sound of your olive tree. Where will you keep it in the cold weather?
I really hope that Mr SA gets good results on Wednesday. You must both feel a little anxious about it.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally
