    Happy Sunday everyone :)

Mr SA came out with a real gem last night - he asked if I have life insurance as he's worried about how he'd manage financially if I (his words) snuff it. Lovely Saturday night topic :( I just assured him he'd be ok. What he doesn't know is that he'd actually be quite well off. I have life insurance that would pay off the mortgage plus he'd get 2 years of my salary from work plus a pay out from my pension. That would buy him lots of wallets and man bags. Needless to say if anything happened to him I'd get zilch.

On that cheery note, have a great day :)

You'd get peace from him, his pestering, moaning and buying carp that isn't needed... ;)
Seriously though, have a grand day missus (((((HUGS)))))

It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

Quite a productive day today :)

Went to Aldi this morning, picked up a paving brush that has worked a treat on getting the weeds up in my drive for just £2.99 :)

Mr SA has helped him next door put up the fence panels although he fell and had to be helped back up. He was exhausted afterwards and had a sleep.

Finances done, not a lot happening until payday next Friday.

Tesco card £716.39 - this is the holiday balance and this time next week it will be gone :)
VSP £172.77 - aiming for £200 by the end of the month
Emergency fund £3260 - more to be added starting end April

Budget pots ok, groceries one is a bit tight, have been stocking up on things, but should stretch as have £20 in Mr M vouchers and don't really need much now.

Good idea of mine to run the spend pots on a 4 weekly basis, working out a lot easier to manage.

Have made a batch of carrot, swede and lentil soup for work lunches next week.

    Meal plan:

    Tonight: Roast salmon with za'atar
Monday: Aubergine and tomato curry with basmati rice (from freezer)
Tuesday: Gnocchi with tomato and ricotta sauce
Wednesday: Pesto fish parcels and butternut squash wedges
Thursday: Gnocchi with tomato and ricotta sauce
Friday: Thai fishcakes, swede chips and veg

Looking forward to putting my feet up tonight with a glass of wine and Corrie. Then an early night as early start tomorrow.

Have a good evening folks xx

  • Your pots are looking good :).

Sorry Mr SA fell over although it's good that he was trying to do something.

Lucky our WW coach said she'd never come across anyone who had za'atar - I said you have now :rotfl: Any unusual ingredient I've got it. Agave nectar is next on my list. Anyway za'atar is very nice. I'm trying to concentrate on cooking out of my WW Flex cookbook this week as I haven't used it much since I bought it.

Only 4 weeks to holiday :j

I’m a fan of za’atar - dh boss is from the Middle East and I love ‘do’s’ at his house the spices or aramats they used are delicious, really delicate. I’ve got a couple of Persian cookery books - no good for you as a lot of it is meat they can usually be tweaked to SW too.
Your food and menu plan are looking good.

Love Za-atar and Sumac - lovely north african flavours. Also can heartily recommend Lidl's Cotes du Rhone villages at around £4.49 - so good. My eldest brother is something of a wine snob and loved it, couldn't believe the price and now buys it by the car boot full.
Well done with the WW, you are going to be so ready for that beach soon.
