I asked how it worked and there are search officers on every floor who check everything then report back to a fire marshal that the floor is clear. Now we are hybrid working it's difficult to know who is/isn't in the office on any given day. A lot of us have managers in other parts of the country too, mine is in London.Cherryfudge said:Oh my goodness, SA! I think you need a week off after all that! Nice to be able to get a bit of shopping done though. I'm still wondering how they manage to account for everyone under a starburst system, or do they have senior management at the door of every nearby coffee shop, B&M and supermarket with a clipboard?
What are the cushions like?
@CRANKY40, that's a great example of how to tell a story in under 100 words!

Morning all, happy Thursday, another beautiful day, hot already 😎
WFH today but have been out for a walk first as I'm going to be pretty much chained to my desk from 10am until 4pm as I'm interviewing. It's over 20 years since I last interviewed anyone so will be interesting to say the least! No one can say my job isn't varied 😆 It will be done over Teams as the applicants are in Scotland.
Hoping today won't be as eventful as yesterday!
It will be NSD 8/12 today. Won't have time to spend any money! I'm trying to last until Saturday before spending again, if I can.
Have got a portion of veg chilli out of the freezer to defrost for tonight's dinner which I'll have with rice.

Here are the cushions @Cherryfudge. The long one was £5 the square one £4. They are badged as outdoor cushions but I’ve got them indoors.

I do like your cushions. I might have been tempted myself.

I kind of see that - hope there is someone to account for the search officers, too! I suppose that's down to the fire officers.Sun_Addict said:I asked how it worked and there are search officers on every floor who check everything then report back to a fire marshal that the floor is clear. I think this is the main reason we have a sign-in book at work - though judging by the amount of people who fail to sign out (usually me), there are a lot of us in the building!
Those cushions are beautiful - and must be like having a bit of holiday with you in heatwave England!
I hope you have a quieter day and some good applicants.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I enjoyed the interviewing, it was interesting and certainly a learning curve on what to say/not to say in an interview to score well. Despite being told to stay out of the room, Mr SA shuffled past at one stage, as I was on camera he could be seen in the background, even though I blurred it. I’m back in the office tomorrow and doing my day job for a change 😆
I was hoping to get some time in my hanging chair after work but the weather turned showery and gloomy. Thankfully the two loads of washing I did dried quickly and were gathered in beforehand.Nothing spent so achieved my NSD. Had an email from The Coventry to say the interest rate on my regular saver has increased 🙂Only on 13,000 steps today, glad I went for a walk this morning or it would’ve been a lot less.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -
Happy Friday. That’s the working week done and dusted 🥳
NSD 9/12 today. Should hit target - just!Need to rummage in the freezer for tonight’s dinner, got plenty to choose from.Payday next Thursday and payslip available to view today. I am £68 better off thanks to pay rise but this will be wiped out and more by everything going up.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4 -
£68 is better than nothing. It will help with the rising cost of something
I'm on the last countdown now. Half and hour then I can go home.2 -
My pay rise hit when the NI went up, so I didn’t get the full happiness of it. I was vaguely expecting a slight increase this time due to the earning threshold changes, but maybe that’s next month, or I was dreaming I’d see a change. Generally most ‘help’ tends to pass me by as we are usually not fitting in any of those boxes.I love your new cushions. Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

You should see extra in your pay next month when National insurance threshold changes. You got a great bargain with your cushions. They are very pretty.3
