Morning happy hump day, beautiful and sunny already ☀️
I’m on leave today 🥳
Taking the older cat to the vets this morning for her annual check up. Then I’m going to spend the day catching up on jobs in the house and garden. The annoying thing is that there are loads of plants that desperately need potting on, Mr SA could’ve done this while I was at work. Instead he’ll get in my way while I’m doing it.I need the get the dining room straight again and give it a good clean.
It should be NSD 4/12. The cat is on a vet plan so won’t be anything to pay. As it’s such a lovely day we’ll put her box on Mr SA’s scooter rather than pay out for taxis. It’s not too far but will get me some steps in.
The kitten caught her first bird this morning ☹️ I managed to rescue the poor little thing and put it high up where she can’t climb or jump up to recover. It was so shocked. Hopefully it will survive.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3 -

Somehow the cat’s vaccinations were way overdue so she’s had one then has another in 3 weeks. The vets usually send a text reminder so don’t know what happened there. Nothing to pay because of the plan. Still can’t go inside this vets which is daft because you can at the dog and kitten’s vet.
Enjoyed my day off, weather has been gorgeous. Spent all day pottering about in the garden, got everything planted up I wanted to. Had a bit of time relaxing on the hanging chair with my book. I can see why Mr SA has so many falls in the garden, he’s constantly back and forth on his walking frame. Despite him having really bad hay fever and the skin cancer scare he just can’t stay out of the sun.The dining room is back to normal now.Step count is 23,000 today. Did a live FitSteps class at 6pm.Tonight’s dinner was lentil bolgnese used up from freezer stocks with spaghetti used up from DD’s pandemic panic stash (going down thankfully as they are going out of date).Mr SA’s chair being delivered tomorrow.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
Morning, happy Friday eve. Another beautiful warm sunny day.
WFH today, I was going to book it as leave but I have a meeting this afternoon that I need to attend. I also have a few bits and bobs to do so makes sense to work.
I was just enjoying a quiet coffee and a read earlier, thinking how lovely that time of the day is before Mr SA gets up, when I heard the dreaded shuffle, he was up well before 7! I've cleared him off with the dog to pick up a parcel from the Post Office. The last two things I ordered from Amazon have been delivered by Royal Mail so need to check before I buy next time. It's only fish food for the pond fish nothing exciting.
I need to pop to the shops at lunchtime, going to Aldi, not been there for a while, getting a bit fed up with the empty shelves in Lidl just lately. It will give me a decent walk anyway and get the steps count up.
Got a load of washing to hang out and need to give the kitchen a good clean. Tonight's dinner is smoked haddock on a bed of lemon and leek rice to use up stocks.
Day off again tomorrow, temperature set to be in the 30s so looking forward to that. I know not everyone likes the heat but as someone who is always freezing cold it's like heaven to me! I think I was a lizard in a previous life 😆

Mr SA's chair is here and all set up, he's pleased with it.
Went to Aldi in my lunch break. Their stocks are much better than Lidl's have been just lately, seems to be so much more choice too. I also thought most things were slightly cheaper.
That's me logged off work for a long weekend 😎😁 Will do garden type jobs tomorrow as the weather forecast is hot and sunny. Saturday and Sunday don't look great so will earmark those days for indoor jobs.
I must start watching what I spend now, I seem to have been free range spending on the house and garden. Have to bear in mind there will be the painter to pay for the hall/stairs/landing next month plus paint plus carpet/flooring. Then that's definitely it until next year at least, need to build my savings back up.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -

OMG talk about fated with these curtains. What with the pole breaking the corner off the window sill, Mr SA repaired it with the UPVC glue I bought today. Somehow it got onto the lining and now there are three pin holes in it 😩 Apparently this can be remedied with bathroom silicone. That’s not the end of it, the dog wanted to sit in the window seat, I picked her up, sat next to her and caught the curtain as I sat down which brought the pole crashing to the ground 😩😩 Mr SA thinks the rawl plugs need changing to sturdier ones.A job for tomorrow …I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3
