Re Mr SA - I think you know you’re never going to change him and your idea of not telling him anything is a good one. A shame but true. From what you’ve written in the past he’s obviously frightened that you’re going to get promoted, move in higher ‘circles’ and then run off with someone richer and more glamorous than him! Daft I know but true as my last ex was exactly the same. Hated me going out with work colleagues (actually hated me going out without him period!), and was always going on about me going off someone wealthy I’d meet in work! The fact that I’d been working in this business for years before I met him seemed to have got lost to him on the way! The crunch came when I had been studying for some professional exams and he deliberately picked a fight with me on the morning of the exam so I’d presumably fail! Things rapidly deteriorated after that. We had another big fight a few weeks later when I reminded him that morning I’d be going to a works farewell drinks party and he went off on one yelling I’d not told him about it. I got out of the car, slammed the door so hard it nearly came off and went round to my mums and asked if I could stay there until I could find another place. He was a good man really - thoughtful mostly and a good dad to his children but I couldn’t live with his issues.
I’m sorry to have hijacked your diary SA with my ramblings but the promotion thing and Mr SA really resonated with me. YOU GO FOR IT!
He may have been a lovely hunk SSG but picking a fight with you on the morning of an exam is pretty unforgiveable . I don't blame you for leaving, I couldn't live with someone that jealous.
My DH is never jealous (am I that unattractive? :rotfl:) but I feel he can be a bit lazy and moody at times. I guess no man is perfect. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Yes he certainly had issues stemming from way back Hairy. I think the reason I stayed so long was because I’d had one failed marriage and one other failed relationship already and I was in my late 30s when we met. My mindset was that I should really, really try with this one and make a go of it. But alas sometimes it doesn’t work that way......
Mr Hairy sounds a good man and you’ve had a successful marriage, albeit your money ups and downs. Some women would love that.....

SSG I have a how to write competencies guide plus loads of people at work who do the sifts to help for free. I got some good help last time and only narrowly missed getting through the sift.
Can't believe Mr SA is still going on about it. It's the last time I tell him anything. I can't seem to get through to him I'll be working in exactly the same place just getting more money. It's just made me more determined to put in an application.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -

Hi SA, I've stumbled across your new diary and spent the last however-long reading... I know I already 'know' many of the people who have posted but this thread is just so readable. (I may be pausing in diary reading soon to do some online shopping for a golfing umbrella)...
That said, it's gutting to hear your original diary has gone. I understand they can't be reinstated because then it counts as MSE publishing the contents which I suppose might lead to them being sued, but sure if the OP - or MSE - posted a disclaimer at in the original post to say views in the thread are those of themselves and any private individuals who chose to contribute, surely if that were done then it's not far different from MSE allowing said individuals to post on its forum in the first place?
(Subscribed by the way).

I am shattered! Been stripping wallpaper for the best part of the day. All done now but the walls will need re-plastering. Loads of plaster came off with the wallpaper. Mr SA thought he'd be able to patch it up but it would look awful. Anyway he's going to ring the plasterer tomorrow.
Not even done my meal plan or finances.
Hello cherry fudge
Abba - I was one of the members who trialled flex last year before it was rolled out. I like it but if you don't like the new zero points foods it's a lot less points to get used to. It's only just clicked in with me to be honest. Don't give up though, we've had some good results in our class.
Anyway dinner is ready will be back later.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0
