SA I think you may have to really push your GP into more investigations. A lot of them tend to blame one problem on another. I used to work with a man with Downs syndrome and although we pushed and pushed one of the doctors in the practice kept blaming his symptoms on the fact the psychiatrist had said he had dementia. We knew it wasnt that but eventually he became really ill and we insisted on a home visit from another dr who took one look at him and said this man needs to be in hospital and called an ambulance. He died later that night.I am not trying to worry you but just saying that problems with the brain seem to be an excuse for doctors to blame everything else on that.If you can get to actually see or talk to a doctor ask for further investigations. You shouldnt have to put up with this if there is an alternative.6

I have experience of having to push doctors as when Mr SA began having fits 9 years ago he was discharged from hospital with depression! I had to tell them I thought it was a brain tumour as I recognised the symptoms from my losing my mum to one. Thankfully they took me seriously and he was re-admitted and checked over thoroughly. The doctors admitted I’d saved his life by being persistent as he was very close to a coma by that time.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

Finally got through to the doctors just now only to be told I need to ring back at 8am tomorrow to book him an appointment. I told them when you ring first thing either no one answers the phone or you get cut off. She explained this is because they are very busy on the phones first thing. So I can't make appointments for him unless I ring at 8am!

Put in a complaint to the Practise Manager, if people don't officially complain then there's no incentive to change their systems.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?4 -
Apparently you can complain about GP services to the NHS. The Practice Manager ignored my last complaint so might be worth going over her head. If the Practice Manager is the one I think, she is the woman I heard shouting nastily at someone on the phone in full earshot of a waiting room full of patients, so unprofessional! The surgery gets really bad reviews on the local FB page with a lot of patients looking to move elsewhere.
Just got back from taking the dog for a walk and it's so warm outside. I had a coat and scarf on and was roasting!
On the MSE front, I now have enough money in the holiday budget to cover all the Lanzarote holiday related expenses and have a small amount left over to put towards the August holiday. It's good to know everything is covered from the spending money to having my nails done the day before with still another 5 weeks before we go. An oddment has been sent to the Christmas pot so this now holds £172.44. I've also turned down my heating thermostat to 18 from 21. The heating doesn't come on if it's warm so obviously it's not on today.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
