Another £60 paid off the debt, time to amend my debt figure...

Bit disappointed in replies I am getting from my creditors. One I owe about £300 and they were only willing to accept an offer of £250. This is no longer on my credit report so I am not so keen to pay this one off first. Another that I owe about £400 to has not replied at all and I really want to get that one off my credit report. I will have to chase them up again, but did try about 6 months ago by email and didn't get a reply then either. Very frustrating...

How annoying :( You're trying to pay them off what more do they want? It wouldn't be so bad if you owed them shed loads but you don't.

It's been a while since I posted, lots been going on and had a great holiday to Crete which has recharged my batteries.

On the debt front, I have one default left on my credit report which I have been trying to clear. I had sent emails and a couple of letters but I didn't get a reply. Finally this morning I spoke to someone and settled the account. This means that my credit report should now improve.

I still owe about 5 creditors but they are all past the 6 years since default so I will chip at those when I can.

Time to change my signature

  • Happy New Year to you all. Been a long time since I have posted. Been busy trying to fulfil my dream of owning my own home.

Back in September I applied for a mortgage even though I still had the DMP. I thought I would have to clear that first but my broker found a fairly good rate for me, however not a high street lender. It took about 2 months to get the 'yes' on that and I was ecstatic.

Since November the purchase has been in the solicitors hands and I am hoping to exchange contracts by the end of this month.

I wasn't well over the Christmas break and ended up having 2 lots of antibiotics and steroids, finally finishing them yesterday but still feeling really sluggish. Lots of weight to lose and can't wait to feel bouncy again. Also feel my confidence has been knocked a bit which is down to my weight gain, being ill, no exercise and the stress of buying my home.

I know it will be worth all the stress once I own my own home.

I also feel that updating this post on a regular basis with goals will help with my confidence.

My DMP now stands at £3950 so my aim in 2019 is to clear this.

As I do every year I have given up alcohol for January and managed 11 days so far

It will also be a good time to declutter my things ready for moving and hopefully make a little bit of extra cash.

  • Goals this Week:
Spend 20 minutes each day going through old paperwork to shred.
    Recycle mobile phone.
Start a little exercise - just walking for now and average 5000 steps per day.
Keep up the Alcohol Free Month.
Spend as little as possible to be able to afford solicitors fees.

    Have a good weekend everyone
