Mar my smart phones have been free since the first one which cost me £29.99 I think. I signed up for a £7.50 per month thing for 18 months that gave me 500 do dahs of data, 250 mins talk time and unlimited text.
That was a few years ago and I had a new phone for free off them last year and will be able to get another new one in a few months. All that is plenty data, talk time etc for me and I have never gone over my limit and the phones have been smart enough as far as I'm concerned:p
I'm sure you could get a better deal now though as as I say that was quite a few years ago but it suits me to stick with it atm
ETA that was through carph$ne warehou$e and I wasn't fussy about what phone I had..I just wanted a cheap one which was supposedly smart'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought
And I ain't got the power anymore'0 -
That would do me fine! What made me decide to get one was being stuck in hospital for hours and not having anything to do. In the old days I'd have taken a book but now that means taking reading glasses as well and it's such a faff I couldn't be bothered. I just wanted a phone so I could sit on FB and yakk all day LOL!0

You could possibly read a book on your phone, most ebook apps will allow you to adjust the font size to your preference. You can even borrow ebooks from most public libraries.0

:D:D I can squint enough to read texts on my phone JB, but I can't see well enough to read small print in paperbacks.
I didn't even know what the diff was between an iPhone and a Smartphone -- but if never ask then you never find out0 -
Don't know about your hospital but the signal is dire in ours...........0

If you have one of the new 3310's it can access the Internet to an extent, though over mobile data rather than being connected up to WiFi. The reviews reckon the new 3310 Snake isn't as good though.
I recently ditched an iPhone for a smartphone I paid £170 for and while I'd agree that iPhones are unnecessary, an Internet phone needn't break the bank. Mobile data can be disabled if desired so one can't run up a data bill.
Nothing can match a dumb phone battery wise but it seems that most smartphones can outperform a iPhone when it comes to the battery.
Comes down to preference of being able to switch off with a dumb phone or having the convenience of not having to switch on the laptop to check emails or look something up. £60 per month is madness either way.
Admittedly the snack is a bit 'jazzed up' and not as retro which is a shame but still is fun to play. I have the orangey red handset and its fantastic. I charged it up 3 weeks ago and I still have 32% battery left, its mental! I just love it, I was more excited about getting this than I ever have been about a smartphone- I'm such a dork!Just a single mum, working full time, bit of a nutcase, but mostly sensible, wanting to be Mortgage free by 2035 or less!0
