I thought rates had gone down a bit on some too @[Deleted User] but I couldn't be sure. Someone mentioned a little while ago though that many studies are taking longer to pay out now and I'm also definitely noticing that. Many more don't pay out till the 3 weeks are up rather than approving them within days.1

The problem seems to have been related to a dirty mouse. I cleaned my mouse thoroughly with a screen wipe and it seems to have sorted the problem. Thank you very much for your help and your repliesSlinky said:[Deleted User] said:
Thanks Slinky. I have just checked Thunderbird settings. Under "Read and Display" there are three options and the one already ticked is 'Open in existing window.' The other two boxes, open in new tab and in new window, are both unticked yet I have to open in a new tab or new window before I can open an email.Slinky said:Have you checked your Settings to see if somehow the default instructions for how you open emails etc have become changed? I used to have something similar on occasion when trying to open pdf files. The default had become changed to Save file rather than Open file.
Perhaps try ticking the open in new window option, log out, login and then change back to open in existing window?1 -

I don't understand the business about having to have £1 worth of dollars in order to withdraw - as far as I can see, it only seems to apply to money from Prolific. I do surveys with Intellizoom, which always pays in dollars, either $1 or $5; Paypal does the conversion, and this morning $1 was 77p, which I was able to withdraw without any difficulty. And yet if I had earned £1 from Prolific, I would not be able to withdraw it. I cannot understand why there should be a difference; I am totally bewildered!

I don’t have a dollars account set up in paypal, dollars from prolific automatically convert to pounds and sit in my PayPal account in pounds.MollyR said:I don't understand the business about having to have £1 worth of dollars in order to withdraw - as far as I can see, it only seems to apply to money from Prolific. I have no idea how I ended up with a dollar account in Paypal, it just happened when they started paying for some studies in dollars - those come across to me as dollars when the sterling total in Prolific is over £6 but if there's less than £1 worth of dollars in Paypal I can't withdraw it until there is.

\Once a study is approved, has anyone ever had the researcher trying to retrieve it?
Had an AI study - "Read conversations between a tutor and a student" which paid £15. I started it but then got a technical problem and couldn't continue so I returned it - only spent a few minutes on it instead of the hour it was meant to take. Didn't bother messaging the researcher.
Just noticed it's been approved for the full £15, Which is very nice but wondering what happens if they decide they've made a mistake? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
I had an AI study yesterday that has ‘manual completion’ as the code. That means it is automatically approved at the end of the study. Maybe that happened here. I’ve never heard of a payment being withdrawn. Worst I’ve had is a researcher messaging me a link through prolific to request I re do the study.elsien said:\Once a study is approved, has anyone ever had the researcher trying to retrieve it?

I had an issue some time ago and Prolific confirmed to me that once a study has been paid for money can only go one way.6
