where did you hear this?theonlywayisup said:Not sure if this has been reported yet?
There are changes coming with Prolific. Very basically, they are proposing to charge 10p per withdrawal and studies will come in pounds, dollars and euros. You will have to transfer those balances in other currencies to your paypal account to change into pounds (at paypal's ridiculously expensive rate).
I can't say I am surprised at what is coming but it will no doubt change how people withdraw their money. 10p on a low amount is going to impact. Less so on larger withdrawals.Making the debt go down and savings go up

Learning and memory study

I did the above study at the beginning of the month and it's still being offered to me every day. I contacted the researcher a while back to ask if participants are allowed to take part more than once but they didn't reply.

Can you share the source of this information please? Without evidence, I would suggest this is bogus \ a wind-up.theonlywayisup said:Not sure if this has been reported yet?

The source is prolific. I am on a panel for them - I don't know how many others are on it, but it was a 1-2-1 zoom discussion. I have signed an NDA so should not say anything else, but what I have said is not covered by the NDA.ndf9876 said:

Thanks for suggesting it is bogus. I have been around here a while. 16k posts....I have nothing to gain from posting this info so take from that what you will.2 -
So are these changes definitely coming, or are they just canvassing opinions about possible changes they might make? You say they are "proposing" these changes, which suggests maybe the latter?

I'd actually meant to suggest that what you'd been told was a leg-pull, not that you were trolling us, sorry it if came across like that. I'd not heard that they had a participant panel, guess there's no reason why I would though - but it sure makes sense that they would. I know they used to charge for withdrawing money, but that stopped shortly after I became a participant, so it's interesting (and mildly unsurprising!) that they'd re-introduce it. Guess we'll have to wait and see what the outcome of all this is.1 -

I was offered and returned this study a fortnight ago. I've no doubt many others returned it then so you would have hoped they would have tried to simplify the instructions by now.

I see that I did this one on 4 August, long enough ago that I can't remember any details of it - but I got paid £2.31 plus £5.28 bonus, so I guess I must have understood it to some extent!Cordie said:Slinky said:Anybody got this one:A Study of Human Decision-Making

Hi all,
I've just discovered Prolific and it looks very interesting and something I may be able to commit some time to.
I was wondering how much people are making from doing this and the kind of time being used?
Thanks to the pandemic I now work in a job which is mainly working from home and we do have times of the year where things get a little quiet so rather than twiddling my thumbs it could be worth using some of the time to make some money in this way.0
