I've had a good week so far, over £15 with £8.50 still to be approved. I only started in December and my best weeks have been just under a tenner.

Seemed to have cursed myself, nothing today apart from one I sent back before starting, about my views on retaliation if Russia started using nuclear weapons........

Oh my goodness! How can I get faster at accepting studies?  I've got the notification bar (which sometimes works and sometimes doesn't) and I sit at my desk with my spare pc on the Prolific page but I have missed about 8 today, I am gutted, they are always full and the only one that I managed to get into would not load!  :dizzy:

Had a nice surprise, I had a £9.08 bonus for a study i did a few days ago. It was the one where you are allocated player A B or C and had to make decision on whether A should take money from B,

I don’t think you are necessarily missing them. I think the full ones or those with one place ones left are showing up for everyone but in reality they’ve already gone before they pop up on the screen. A bit of a system glitch.

I don't think they are system glitches as such, but I think the widget checks every couple of minutes, but not at the same time for everyone. By the time you've clicked through, somebody who received their notification just before you has grabbed it.  I've very occasionally had one where there was only 1 slot left.

ETA I've just watched it and it refreshes after a fraction over 2 minutes.

  • I just find it a massive coincidence that I have not had a single study since the exact day my internet connection changed.
I'm now 100% sure the issue I have been having is something to do with my new internet provider - our internet just dropped out at home so I hotspotted to my 4G on my phone as I was in the middle of something and I had two surveys pop up on the widget.

I have no idea how to resolve this though - anyone else had any issues with G Network (they are pretty new in my area but were the only option that wasn't Sky, BT or Virgin and we have previously had very good experiences with startups so happy to try them).

I would contact Prolific and ask whether they are inadvertently blacklisting your IP address.  I had this happen when Plusnet (my ISP) were using some IP addresses which resolved to France, and Prolific didn't like them.  I now have a static IP with Plusnet, which resolved to the UK, and there are no problems.  whatsmyip.org will tell you your IP address;  if you have a dynamic IP  (which means it changes from time to time, especially when you are disconnected), it might be worth asking your ISP what the full range of IP addresses is that they are allocated, and asking Prolific to whitelist the whole lot.

  • Yes, I've just contacted them and said I'm pretty sure the issue is with my ISP and whether anyone else has had similar issues and can they resolve them.

I did check my IP address when I first wondered if that was the issue, but it says I'm based in London so I'm not sure whether that is the issue or not.

I had the same issue as @MollyR with Plusnet. I disconnected the router, left a couple of minutes, then plugged back in. My IP address changed back to England which sorted out the issue. It might be worth trying this before contacting your iSP.

    Good luck
