A study about headset online review sentences labelling
By Ju Hyeong Park£1.00 • £6.38/hr9 mins0 placesIn this study, I'll ask you about labeling headset online review sentences.
What you will do:
You will label a total of 26 sentences about headsets based on six criteria.
The labeling criteria are according to the customer journey stage.
(i.e., consideration, purchase, shipping, using, and customer service)
Only study I have seen all day so far. Tick box categorisation exercise with instructions at the beginning.
Nothing too taxing and quite short.

decision making game
By Yan Bai£2.50 • £7.73/hr19 mins0 placesIn this study, you will play a decision making game. The study will take around 15 minutes. You will receive £2.50 for participating in the study. The study allows you to earn additional bonus.
Two requirements for participating the study successfully:
1) Please do NOT use Internet Explorer/Edge and Google Chrome browser for this study. To progress successfully, please make sure you are using browsers, such as Firefox or Safari.
Just about to go out when this appeared and I could not resist the chance to earn a bonus. This is a dice rolling game and is very easy to cheat (not that I recommend that you do) but I assume that is part of the purpose of the study.
I did not earn a bonus unfortunately and it took around 25 mins to complete the study, but my laptop is a bit slow for this type of animated activity usually, so things will probably progress quicker on a more modern machine.

Indeed, I am certain that the purpose of the exercise was to establish whether people would cheat; from the questions, it seemed as though some people (including me) would be paired with "an AI robot" and others with a human. I would suspect that people would be more inclined to cheat if told they were paired with a human, on the basis that both of the pair would get rewarded - whereas who would care whether or not an AI bot got rewarded?

Rating Reasons
By sheffield.ac.uk£1.75 • £16.98/hr6 mins38 placesIn this study you will be shown reasons that other participants have given for or against a certain topic. Your task is to rate how strongly you agree or disagree with these reasons. All reasons represent other people's opinions, are entirely anonymous, and HAVE NOT been fact-checked.
The reasons you will see do not reflect the opinions or beliefs of the researchers or the University of Sheffield.
The task should take no longer than 10 minutes and you will be reimbursed £1.75 for your time.
The task has been granted ethical approval by the University of Sheffield.
Clicked on the link and my heart sank when I saw that it was hosted on the Gorilla platform and expected it to be full, but to my great surprise there were places available.
Average completion time was about right for me, so took around 6 mins. Mind you, I did stop towards the end for a few seconds to turn the sausages over.

Well, this was looking like the best paid survey ever (the second one)!
Unfortunately, it went wrong as when I clicked to give my consent to participate, it just gave me a completion code. Took about 10 seconds, so maybe that's why the rate was £900/hour!

I'm glad you have had some success, yupiteru. I'm afraid I have not had any successes with Gorilla Platform ones for a long time.

TikTok Video Advertisements (only for TikTok users)
By Miaolei Jia£2.50 • £6.47/hr23 mins3 placesIn this study, we want to learn about how consumers make common decisions regarding food consumption. We only recruit participants who are TikTok users for this study (e.g., have watched TikTok videos on their phones). This study has been appearing on and off for a while but even though I have a TikTok account, it is not a site I use a great deal as I prefer longer videos on YouTube or Odysee, but seen as it has been very quiet on Prolific for a few days I thought I would give it a go.However on the first page of the study it states:"You will be asked to use your computer camera to record your facial expressions while you are watching these videos, and upload and share your facial expression recordings with us through Qualtrics".I do not have a web cam on my laptop that I always use for Prolific and in my about you questions I advise that I am not willing to record myself via a webcam as part of a study.Oh well, study returned and hopefully it wont come back.
