How well can you remember health & well-being advice?

I completed this study, having waited some time before finding an hour where I could have my speakers on (i.e. no Wimbledon!) - but was horrified at the end to be told that my payment would be in the form of a £10 Love To Shop voucher.  Such vouchers are virtually useless where I live - the only place that takes them is Boots, and I very rarely shop there, preferring our independent pharmacy.  I have reported the study and complained bitterly that if I had known I was going to be paid in a worthless-to-me voucher rather than in cash via Prolific, I would not have taken the study at all.
I have now heard from the researcher with a humble apology, and they have approved payment;  so that has been sorted out now.

Been a very quiet start to the week for me, hardly anything Monday and Tuesday and then this one comes up today.  20 rounds doing mental arithmetic questions and guessing how many you can get right in 2 minute slots.  The time flew by so it wasn't that bad. Just been paid with a £1.67 bonus.  That'll do nicely thank you.

    Leadership Study

This study is interested in leadership. The current survey takes about 2 minutes to complete.

Devices you can use to take this study:

The length of this study depends on how you answer one of the questions at the beginning.

The way I honestly answered it meant that additional questions were asked which meant the study took around 4 mins.

Been very quiet so far this week for me with mainly short low paid studies like this one popping up.

I just did that one for a £5.84 bonus! I found it pretty anxiety inducing, though, and a few times I considered reducing my goal for a less nerve-racking experience. I wanted to make it count, though, as it had popped up just as I was about to make my dinner so I was getting hungry by the end.

I was surprised (and really pleased) to  successfully reserve a place on this Study starting at about 5.45 p.m.  today.

Although it was quite hard going I was glad to be able to complete both Part 1 and Part 2 (20 blocks) of the Study.  I was  slow (I often am on the Studies)  and took about 20 minutes over the suggested time of about 67 minutes for both parts.

At the end I had a total of 2002 points for the 20 blocks but I cannot remember how to translate that into any bonus.  I'm really pleased to think that I may be eligible for the £8 and perhaps a bit more in bonus.

    Shampoo Study 6

    Dear participant,

In this study, we are interested in different aspects of the purchase of body and hair products.

Clicked once to reserve a place and got the study full pop up so clicked again and strangely got a place.

There is what I assumed was a trick question/attention check relating to the city that is the capitol of the UK.

Or maybe it is just that as we know, some people in other countries think England is the UK?

Researcher appears to be from Norway, so who knows.

Edit - Have been paid pretty quickly

    Impressions of AI Generated Music

    By Caitlin Duncan

The aim of this study is to gather information on peoples' impressions of computer generated music and Artificial Intelligence (AI) creativity.

Stated there was 15 places left but when I clicked a few times on the 'take part in this study' button all I got repeatedly was the 'study is full' pop up.

It has largely been like this all week so far and I assume that the Prolific algorithm is not looking kindly on me at the moment.

Saying that I feel a lot happier since I gave up the Prolific assistant add on a few months back, as It was a stressful and time wasting activity all around chasing those one place studies day in and day out, I did not find it beneficial at all, just STRESS.

  • I hope you get more Studies soon, yupiteru.

I seem to have spells with no Studes or quite a number of Study notifications which are full.  It is disappointing then, out of the blue, a Study becomes available.  There is no way that I can see of working it out - especially if e.g  24 places available, click to start straight away only to find that the Study is full.

The Gorilla ones are frustrating because it is possible to reserve a place only to find that the Study is full snd the only option is to Return thd Study.

This happened to me too. The study said there were quite a lot of places left - I think it was over 15 when I saw it - so I was hopeful to reserve a place, only to be told study is full.

It's been very quiet for me this week. The only ones I seem to be getting have only 1 place available which I never get!

latest update from the timed out study a rather long response

    Dear Participant,
Firstly, I really would like to THANK YOU if you have taken the time to complete our survey. We received a lot of good and high-quality data. THANK YOU!!!

However, there has also been a technical issue with the completion time parameter setup, which caused most of you to be timed out. You may know that when a participant is timed-out, Prolific looks for new participants. As a result, we had more than 1300 responses, instead of 400.

Our initial project allowance was for 400 participants, but as I said previously, we really value participants' effort and time in taking the survey, and we recognise that the issue was not on your side. So, we as a team worked hard in the past few days to figure out the problem, and see what we could do to pay back most of you. I manually checked all participants in timed-out and awaiting review status, and we raised our allowance as much as we could.

As a result, 89% of the total submissions will be accepted despite your timed-out status. If you receive a rejection, please do not take it personally. The rejection is not related to the timed-out status per se, but to the criteria, we mentioned in our ad (e.g., multiple attention checks failed, survey completed too quickly, etc.). Further, Prolific recorded some submissions of which we haven't received any data, and so we are unable to verify and accept those submissions.

I will reject or approve and pay participants who result in "awaiting review" status first, and I will move on to those in "timed-out" later. Please, consider that on our side we have to compute the new budget needed to cover the extra cost and make a new payment to Prolific. We will do it as quick as possible, but it may take a few days. Do not panic, if you don't receive your reward straightforward.

I hope you can all appreciate our effort and work and this message clarifies how we have decided to proceed. Thank you again for taking part in the survey.
Has anyone heard anything more from the researcher on this one? It's been over a week so I was hoping to have heard something more by now. It doesn't look good does it.
