‘Unjust or Justified?’ - Protest about NHS policy 7 minute study.
I’ve just had this rejected for completing this too quickly! Is that a valid reason to reject?
The first researcher was really bolshy and said there was no way I could have completed the study correctly. I objected but she then said my answers weren't 'good enough'. I know now these aren't necessarily reasons to reject a study but I was quite new to Prolific then and the study was only for 60 pence so I gave in and got my only Rejection there.
The next researcher objected but when I pushed back, explaining that I read very quickly, he did pay up.
I've realised I tend to complete studies on the quicker side of the estimates so now sometimes I pause quite close to the end in case I've gone too quickly.0 -
I also read very quickly (~3000wpm) so tend to complete surveys much more quickly than expected, particularly if they include a lot of text. To avoid any problems I just go and do something else for a couple of minutes before pressing the final button to complete the survey.Ironically this led to my first timing out the other day when I totally forgot to come back and finish one! Luckily it was only 12p.0

Yes, I’ll do something else for a few minutes if I’m worried I am whizzing through too quickly,All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
I have two different approaches. In my work I have to move at a at a blistering pace just to keep up with the mainly young people that are my colleagues. Time is money but accuracy is also important. With prolific studies however I take a different approach and whilst accuracy is still important, I purposely take my time and usually copy and paste or screen print pages of text as I go along if I feel I will need to refer back to them for information or attention check purposes.I also have a stop watch running and regulate the time I take to complete studies to ensure that the time that I take is 'appropriate' and so neither too slow or too fast, taking into account the particulars studies quoted estimated and average completion times. It is not uncommon for me to take a 'comfort break' halfway through or on the last page if I feel I have been going a bit quickly. This method works for me but no doubt others will have a different approach that works for them.1

Exploring phenotypic variation in mental wellbeing - Screening
By balliol.ox.ac.uk177 placesExploring phenotypic variation in mental wellbeing
CUREC Approval Reference: R77387_RE004
Please note that this is a screening questionnaire which is part of a larger study involving 3 research sessions on 3 consecutive days. Please complete this questionnaire only if you are happy to complete a research session today, tomorrow and the day after tomorrow (lasting about 1h each).
This study looks interesting but unfortunately I am not in a position to commit to the 3 1hr sessions that follow the screening questionnaire.£0.88 • £7.54/hr7 mins

I didn't see that one but it does look interesting. I have had two very brief Monday morning Studies, just one and 2 minutes long but successful. After a quiet 'Prolific' weekend I'm not complaining though.

Has has anyone had a situation like this? I am receiving messages such as “your study of XYZ has been accepted and you have received a payment of 30p. Your account balance is now …..”
But the account balance is not being topped up- it remains at nil.
I have been in touch with the help desk but they don’t seem to understand what I am describing.0 -
Yes, Greenqueen_2. My account notifications are really weird today. Also three notifications about exactly the same study approvals (two different studies so six separate email notifications) nothing making much sense: e.g. Received £2.50 - your balance is now 15 pence. Then received e.g. £1.25 (and not enough to cash out anyway) but balance is still 15 pence - just checked a few minutes ago and still 15 penceI also received email notification today about a Study approval - received payment about two weeks ago.All a bit odd and I can't quite make sense of it at all.0
