Thank you. I am wondering if some people were put in a control group, that just had the weather page instead, as a comparison to those who had the inequality page. I can't ask the researcher and own up that I know of others who completed the same study.Deleted_User said:Silvercar: Re link for Survey for Social Movements ... . I have Returned my Study because I decided that Facebook was not for me. I opened a Facebook Account for the Study but I just didn't feel quite 'right'about it.I hope it all works out well for you, silvercar.

I was given the first link mentioned above. 'Liked' and 'followed' as instructed. That thread points to 'Inside Inequality' Looked at the second link and my 'like' and 'follow' weren't showing. That thread points to 'Inequality Threads'.silvercar said:

No idea what's going on! Perhaps we're already messing up their research!
Has anyone actually received notification of anything in their newsfeed? I haven't, although there have been new posts on the page(s).

Just had a survey where mid way through it offered a $100 dollar bonus - bit odd but ok. Finished it for it to say the Sorry no bonus exists but they just wanted to see what option would be picked.
Don't like surveys like that they feel less ethical by lying to get further engagement when its really not necessary.Survey about consumer preference.

There's an option in the 'About you' section that allows you to accept or reject studies that 'deliberately mislead'. I'll see if I can find the category and report back.Saving a house deposit. Member no.7 100% of target

"About You" -> "Participation on Prolific" -> "Would you be happy to take part in a study where you are intentionally given inaccurate information about other participants and the study? You would be debriefed after the study."3 -
I've had that box ticked from when I signed up with Prolific. So far it's been (fairly) obviously fake 'other participants with whom you're going to compete/work', but not come across one with such a high $ bonus..... if it seems too good to be true.....ndf9876 said:Ivana_B_Rich said:HampshireH said:Just had a survey where mid way through it offered a $100 dollar bonus - bit odd but ok. ‘Unjust or Justified?’ - Protest about NHS policy 7 minute study.
I’ve just had this rejected for completing this too quickly! Is that a valid reason to reject?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. On previous studies I have had a few where I was timed out and did not know until submission on completion. I have never heard of a rejection for being too fast.
If there were not any failed attention checks, and you answered all the questions, I am surprised if you are not going to be paid, silvercar.

I messaged the researcher and they’ve relented. Ridiculous to make a judgement on a 7 minute survey being completed too quickly, a couple of minutes variance can make a difference in statistical terms, but could just be someone putting the kettle on before starting.Deleted_User said:On previous studies I have had a few where I was timed out and did not know until submission on completion. I suspect that the researcher didn’t like my responses, but they couldn’t admit to thatI'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
