Values and Information Privacy 2
By Epics Studies523 placesYou are invited to participate in a research study seeking to understand people’s values and concerns of information privacy in relation to self-tracking applications.6 O clock on a Sunday morning and this study was waiting. I assume that this is part two and I vaguely remember completing one very similar a while back but not sure when.£1.90 • £6.61/hr17 mins

I don’t know if you have heard this but some participants have reported strange things going on in their ‘About You’ section on Prolific.
In the ‘Lifestyle/Interests’ section some have noticed it lists ‘golf’ as a sport they take part in (when they don't) and in the ‘Finance’ section there is a question, ‘Do you own a car’ and some have noticed it is indicating that they own a car of some kind when they do not and never selected that they did.
I checked mine and no golf listed but it did indeed show that I drove a petrol car!
I would not have chosen this as I have never owned a car just a bike, so obviously just more Prolific strangeness going on (yet again).Worth a check though, just in case.Edit - Just in case there are those that are not aware, if the answers in the 'About you' section are wrong, just delete the relevant question and answer box and it will appear again in a short while so that you can select the correct answer.5 -
Thanks for the heads-up; both of those spurious answers had appeared in my profile. I suppose I am going to have to find time to work my way through the whole lot, to see whether there are any others.

It's the same on mine.
Interestingly, referring to my post on 10 June, about NFT's, on my 'About you' on Finance mine states, correctly, that I don't know what NFT's are, I was not screened out and I was invited to participate in the study. I learned too late, that participants should have at least one NFT.
Strange!

I just looked, and it had me down as owning a diesel car, when I don't own any sort of car. Thanks for prompting me to check.I wonder if this might be related to a recent study that screened me out because, supposedly, I had given an answer that was in conflict with my pre-screening info (although on that occasion I checked, and the relevant info was correct in my About You pages, and not in conflict with the answer I had given).3

Same here with the golf, it rightly had me as a car owner but then a further question of do you use a car at least once a month said No!"You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "2

Maybe need to go and check all my answers as well, when I can muster up the enthusiasm. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
Chrome Extension quality test
By James Menezes£0.79 • £9.52/hr5 mins3 places
Halfway through (and incidentally already more than 5 minutes in), this study asked me to "Join a Google Meet meeting (any mtg) and take a screenshot of the entire screen. Upload the screenshot."I have never used Google Meet and have no idea how to find or join a meeting. I presume I would need to be invited, and that I would need the consent of anyone else in the meeting to take and upload the screenshot. The only stipulation mentioned in the study description (beyond needing the Chrome browser) was "You should know how to take screenshots." The requirement to be willing and able to find and join a Google Meet meeting should certainly have been mentioned.Wasted over 10 minutes of my time getting halfway through the study and then writing messages to the researcher and to Prolific about it, and all for nothing.2 -

Energy Resilience in the UK following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
I reserved a place on this study and clicked to start. I was directed to enter my Microsoft Account (not Prolific) login details: username, email, password etc. It then said I could not login with a personal Microlsoft account - it had to be, for example, a school account.I contacted The Researcher but, so far I have not received a reply and, if I do not Return the Study I will soon be Timed out.Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution, please?Update at 1700 hours: After several attempts to participate, and no reply from the Researcher, I have been Timed Out. It is disappointing.Crimson1
