NFT (Non fungible tokens) -Reasons to engage with NFTs
Hosted by Sofie Sagfossen. Most of the new studies on Prolific are full and, when this one came up with just one place available, I clicked on it very quickly, was delighted to get the last place and clicked to start straight away.Although I should have realized, I was well into the study before the penny dropping that it was likely (and it was) that this study for for participants who had purchased an NFT. Before participating in this study I had never heard of an NFT and did not know what it was.I was very close to the end and, on completion, the Completion Code was entered automatically.I have contacted the Researcher to apologize for any inconvenience but I am not sure about the 'system' to remedy this. Should I wait to hear from the Researcher or should I now try to change my submission with the Completion Code to, if possible, 'Return the Study?' I am hesitating because I seem to remember it was to 'Return the Study without completion' but I want to be fair to the Researcher and I don't want to get into bother with Prolific. It does not justify my error but, unfortunately, this happened because I was too quick (although pleased) to accept the last place and was well into it before realizing that it was my mistake.Crimson

If the researcher didn't specify in the blurb at the start that the study was only for people who had bought NFTs, or didn't have a screening question about it right at the start, that's really down to their poor study design. I've leave it and wait to see what happens. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.2 -
The researcher should have been able to screen participants regarding NFT's as there is an 'About You' question regarding them, so I would not feel to guilty about it, as it is a failing on their part not yours in my opinion.I did not see the NFT one, but it has been very quiet all week for me and I am sure that I would have done the same thing if it had appeared.2

Airline Pilot Study
By cam.ac.uk£6.00 • £6.00/hr60 mins38 placesThis study aims to develop tests for airline pilot recruitment. It consists of several test sections, each measuring a different ability or personality trait, such as mental arithmetic, leadership or working memory (for which you will need headphones). You must complete all sections and return a completion code to qualify for payment. Participation is anonymous. You will receive feedback on your scores to any questions that have correct answers.Devices you can use to take this study:

Yet another with lots of available places and then gives a try again later message.
So I left the timer ticking on this one after I saw the "Study Full" message, figuring the servers hosting it were at capacity as opposed to being a Gorilla \ Prolific sort of free spaces issue. Came back around 30 minutes later and was able to complete it (using the "Open study in new window").
Believe me when I say you didn't miss anything. It was really tedious, and had nothing whatsoever to do with being a pilot. It also took me nearly an hour and a half to get through, and for what was asked of participants, was really underpaying. Studies like that really ought to be paying £10+ in my opinion.

It's been hanging around on my Studies page for about 2 days, occasionally the number of places reduces by one, unlike most studies that disappear quite quickly. I haven't attempted it (have Covid so not doing anything that might require much brainpower), but I was wondering why it hasn't been snapped up- by others. Has anyone else seen it?

EDI haven't seen any notification for that one, ElefantEd. I hope you recover from Covid soon.Crimson1

This looks interesting - I haven't read the whole 656 pages so am guessing from the last couple of pages this are research surveys being done by perhaps phd candidates or similar? It’s popular because it should pay the equivalent of minimum wage. And it’s research so can be quite interesting, as opposed to interminable questions about broadband.
It’s become more well known of late though, so I think either they’re not taking new people on at the moment or there’s a waiting list.ETA - waiting list. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
