(WIN BONUS, essay questions) Answer a short survey about consumer decisions!
By Rotman Lab£1.08 • £5.88/hr10 minsJust wondering if anyone did this one and didn't win the bonus. It was presented as a lottery with a 5% chance of winning (the prize was only 5c), and an emphasis placed on how surprising it would be if I won. As I clicked, I thought, "I bet I win. I bet there's no lottery and they're just telling everyone they won." And sure enough, I won.Was expecting the deception to be disclosed at the end of the study, as is usually the case where studies involve an element of deception, but there was no such disclosure, so I'm just wondering if I genuinely was lucky. I probably would have given some different answers if I'd believed that. (Not very different, though - 5c isn't enough of a bonus to feel much of anything about.)1 -

All studies (quite a number of notifications) have been full all day from morning to the lastest one this evening.I had one this evening where I managed to reserve a place only to find that it was another Gorilla Platform one saying it was full and asking me to Return the Study. If there was a way of knowing which studies were Gorilla platform ones I would avoid them but it seems to be an ongoing problem..Crimson0

Supervising cognitive learning in a novel experimental task_2
By aston.ac.uk3 placesYou will need to allow ‘Inquisit’, an experimental programming software, to run on your computer. This poses no risks and can simply be deleted once you have completed the study.
£1.25 • £6.07/hr
12 minsI have had to ignore studies that require you to install Inquisit as all my home computers through choice run on Linux Mint and so it will not install.Well I say 'all' what I mean is all my daily use machines, as I do have a laptop with Windows 7 running on it, but it is used just for radio programming software, which I need from time to time as I am a Radio Ham in my spare time.I don't regret this course of action though, as I do not like installing programs like Inquisit on Windows machines, as it is very difficult to actually completely remove them afterwards without much time and effort, not to mention the potential security risks and it is simply not worth the hassle for £1.25.At work I use a Windows computer but do not have the admin privileges to install programmes like this and again is not worth the trouble getting permission. If a much higher amount was offered for a study, then I might think it worth while to take the risk with a Windows install and and the associated work required for security checks and complete removal afterwards, but nothing has come close to tempting me yet.

I keep getting this one:
Academic study with individual and group tasks
£4 reward for about 40 minutes. You have to wait until there are 5 participants in the ‘room’ with you. Invariably it times out, you click that not everyone was present and you receive a bonus of £1.50. I’ve been offered it 4 times already.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages, student & coronavirus Boards, money saving boards. The group task was only about 5 mins of the whole survey if I remember.0 -
Daily work events and well-being EVENING_day10(April8)

Last night at 21.00hrs completed this last instalment of a ten part longitudinal study. Two studies a day that works out at a pound a day for ten days and a three pound bonus at the end.
Not sure what they they will gain from my input mind you, as I lead quite a boring daily existence at work and at home and each days events and experiences were pretty much the same every day.
But then I suppose most people are the same and it is the routine and familiarity that ensures we do not stray too far from our comfort zones and largely keeps the stress down to manageable levels.
I wonder if this weekend will be busy study wise? The last one was totally dead for me, but as the weather is improving, I tend to be spending less time sat in front of the laptop and more time out on my bike or on foot on Saturday and Sunday and I try to make a conscious effort to leave my phone at home whenever possible.
