This one seems to be filling up really slowly - I guess Prolific users are less sarcastic than the researcher anticipated. Anyway, my concern is that the description asks you to browse through your tweets to find suitable ones to share "BEFORE accessing the survey," i.e., to spend time on the study before starting the clock. I would encourage people rather to start the study BEFORE doing any work towards it, so that the time registered by Prolific accurately reflects the time actually spent on it. If it turns out you can't find any suitable tweets, you can always return it - it won't affect your standing on Prolific.
  • I saw the tweets one this morning. I decided that would be more personal info than I was prepared to share for 87p.

Do people tend to bother with the really little ones? I have had a few that are under 20p which seems fairly pointless but I am concerned that I won't be sent as a many if I don't respond.
Don't overlook those - often they are screener studies for longer, more lucrative ones.

There was one ages ago where you had to use your mic to read sentences for THREE hours in a row. I wonder if anyone did that one…

If this is the one I am thinking of, yes. I did it in the evening from about 7 until just after 10. It was pretty tedious, but I earned £25 instead of watching brain-rot TV, and there was even an equally tedious follow-up.
  • All I know is, Prolific is anything but and has been so for a while.  Once in a Blue Moon would be more accurate.

Perhaps I am just past the point where anyone gives a hoot what I think, at least when they have to pay for it, having said which,  I am owed north of £20 so just pay up!  Then I can go away and stop wasting my time watching your flipping site.

I thought that, then I got a £7 and follow up £6 one after weeks of nothing.
And another well paying one today that I had to pass on because of work.
Does seem to be the luck of the draw as to when I’m online.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
  • Same happened to me, elsien, but I am still waiting for payment on those and another well paying one.  I did get one paying pence but it paid immediately (bless it)  Since I was in want of 4 pence for 3 weeks to cash out, I was grateful to finally be able to do so.  This is the desert... Clearly there are oases which do not want to give up their dates until they have to. <Huh?>  :)

  • The one hour video call keeps popping up for me . Looks like a lot of time, plus the horrors of being on video for £7.50.

If you're inclined to video interviews at all, the best paying site is https://takepartinresearch.co.uk/ which is a portal, rather like this, where organisations recruit people for individual studies.  I have done a couple of video interviews through that site which paid from £30 to £50 per hour.  Each study pays individually, you don't have to build up money to cash out, although sometimes they take a week or two to pay out.
