I cashed out just under £44 last month, but most of that came from a 7- or 8-part series of hour-long studies on perception - I was so glad when the series finished (if I had dropped out, I wouldn't have been paid anything at all) that I was relieved when I didn't get offered any more studies for days and days!

I posted above that I'd not ben able to register with Prolific and I just thought I'd update that in case anyone has the same problem. I followed it up though the website and apparently there have been some problems with their new ID checks. They re set it for me and it now works. I have earned a whole 23p so am sure it will be worth it!1

I started with Prolific three years ago this month and to date have earned £220. Some studies are very poorly paid but I did one today that was £1.75. So swings and roundabouts. My daughter's been with them for the same length of time and has earned more than me. Could be that she's been offered more studies because she's younger. I don't know.
Prolific have all your details so organisations don't offer people the studies that are not relevant to their age group, location, educational status, etc. and not everybody is offered the same studies. It depends on whether or not you are a suitable participant.
So people may put alerts on this forum but the studies they alert to may not be available for everyone.
I'd just say don't be disheartened if you don't get offered many. . . I went for a few months with a very dry period - only being offered one or two but now there seem to be quite a lot for my age group, education, location, etc. . .
I'd also say that Prolific is not for those wanting to earn big. But I enjoy doing these studies and most of them are easy.
Hope that's helpful! If not, well, just disregard and move along. Many thanks. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. I find this thread far more useful for just keeping up with any issues such as the recent surge in new participants. Or griping about really weird studies like the one where I had to listen to a relaxation audio every morning before work. I actually dropped out and forfeited the final bonus because the bloke droning on about feeling more, and more, deeply, totally, relaxed was so irritating I couldn't stand it any more! I told the researcher so as well - I think that was a valid finding and I should have got the bonus but didn't!4 -
The other pointless thing about posting study details here is that if someone posts a URL to the survey, that URL string will contain a personal identifier for them; and if they don't post a URL, then nobody can access the survey anyway unless they have been invited by Prolific. I know the people who make such posts mean well and are trying to help others, but it really doesn't work.

This has been discussed before. There used to be a lot more studies posted here without any context, but that has greatly reduced, so I guess a lot of people must have realised it was pointless after the previous discussion. I only post the details of a study if I have a comment to make about it, for the convenience of other people being easily able to identify if it's one they did as well (or one they want to avoid, if it's that sort of comment!)

I’d love the chance to have studies to avoid but not seen any that I’m eligible for for a week or so now. Then a few weeks before that. Worst it’s ever been for me.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1
