It is a little slower over summer typically (at least in my years of being a Prolific participant anyway). It could also be your demographics, although new participants typically do tend to see more studies. Did you verify your account etc?1 -

In all good faith I told them I couldn't because the story and metaphor were cobblers - let's see if I get the money!3

MollyR said:I had one of those yesterday; the researcher apologised and sent me a link to have another go at the study. It worked - but of course it didn't credit, since Prolific had it marked as Returned. I've asked the researcher to credit me manually, but I have no idea how she will achieve it!
After I nagged her a week later, she paid me via a bonus. She made out it was a great favour, when of course it was all her fault in the first place!

Anyone doing the "Insecure Chatbot" studies? I'm wondering where it's going; chatbots are supposed to be helpful to the people chatting with them, but this one keeps whining about mistakes it's made and asking me for help. Unless the intention is to wind me up, I don't see the point.

I got a weird one this morning about cryptocurrency that basically appeared to just be a thinly disguised ad for cryptocurrency. Had a code to get free crypto instead of a proper completion code. I notice it still has thousands of places available this evening...0 -
I did the cryptocurrency one too; seemed to be trying to get me to sign up for a different survey site that pays in some obscure cryptocurrency that I doubt is worth anything. I pasted the completion code into Prolific, as it looked like a Prolific completion code in spite of what it said in the study.I also got a debrief message for the chatbot one. It was based on the idea that showing compassion towards other humans will increase your compassion towards yourself, which they've decided might also work if the other "human" is actually a chatbot. I'm not sure I showed much compassion towards it, though.0

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.2
